Great blocks GramE and HAV
MJP we were driving when I read your post about what your hubby’s comment was. Started laughing and dh asked what was so funny. I told him and he turned slightly green and only said poor guy.
Took a nice long walk along the beach yesterday. It’s easy walking on the packed sand but the loose sand was quite a work out, We laid out by the pool in the warmth of the sun but the pool was cold and I stayed in too long. Could not warm up at all. In the early evening we were off to listen to music followed by dinner on the coast. At sunset they have a fellow playing bag pipes and 2 drummers walk through playing patriotic songs . It was very moving.
Sending good thoughts for poor Marty.

I’ll get the blocks mailed today or tomorrow. That should get to Janice on time. I was supposed to play in a tennis (all of Southern CA) this weekend. However we are having atmospheric rivers starting Friday and going until Tuesday. It’s a good day to hunker down and sew. I can’t decide whether to work on UFOs or clothes sewing.
I love pomegranates. You can buy jars of the seeds here. Reminds me of my DIL who loves to use those seeds in meals.
My son, his long time girlfriend (I consider my daughter in law) and her parents are going to be here for Thanksgiving. They are from Iran and make lovely food. MY DIL bakes her own bread. My son doesn’t like turkey, I wonder if the in laws like them?

And here it is—my final Boom Block! Funny how this one ended up being my favorite of the whole swap. I originally thought I’d have to apologize for how simple it was because I wanted the focus to be on the words. I carefully planned it, cut it all out… and then completely forgot it was on point. The corners didn’t line up, so I improvised—added the red, recut the center, turned it on point the other direction, and added the sides. Sometimes our “oops” moments end up being the best surprises. I absolutely love how it turned out! ❤️
This one's for LStew. Hope you like it. So thankful I got the words. I love the challenge of directional fabric. Thank you for the extra large cut. It was the only way I could cut to get the words in all the same direction.

Hav4, that is a perfect center block for LStew! You make it all shine with class and color. Perfect.
I spent some time last evening cutting itty, bitties for my challenge quilt. Tomorrow is the day to assemble a horde of them. I have myself on a schedule to be finished before Christmas. Of course I have a pille of UFOs to work on and finish by the end of the year and a granddaughter quilt to finish. Then there are several sets of Boom Blocks to assemble too and more soon on their way. Do we ever get to the end? Nah, that would be boring!

MJP, I've never heard of an atmospheric river. Is that like... wind? Please explain.
Hav and GramE, terrific blocks! I love my Santa block. Thank you, Hav! And yes, you made a beautiful block for Lstew!
So it looks like all the packages will be traveling very shortly. How great it is to see blocks every day, but we are coming to an end. Boo hoo.
So far today, Marty has been fine with the fasting. He hasn't had much of an appetite lately anyway. He used to weigh 80 lbs and now he's down to 64.
The doc suggested getting a "help em up" harness, to be able to easily lift him to his feet. I ordered one today and can't wait for it to arrive. It will make a big difference, if he doesn't mind wearing it.
Thanks for thinking of Marty.
