I have to admit I was wondering how hard it would be to keep Marty from eating. Glad it’s not to onorous for him!
Atmospheric river: a long, narrow current of air containing large quantities of water vapor and moving horizontally.
It means we are going to get 4 or 5 days of rain with a good chance of flooding.
We’ve been getting a these the last few years.

Love your last block HAV.
Today was our last full day on the island. We went to the Birding center today to walk the boardwalk. Saw a few of the majestic herons, they are so sleek and smooth. It was interesting watching one catch his breakfast, when he extended his neck you could watch the fish go down sideways. Then there were the pelicans, about 6 of them were fishing for breakfast, they looked graceful flying but they ram their head into the ocean and believe me there is nothing graceful about it. Sounded and looked like someone doing a belly flop. There was a nice alligator display but not my cup of tea, hubby enjoyed it. Rest of the day was pretty mellow a little shopping, lunch contained no sea food, but dinner was blackened fish that was seasoned perfectly and so light it darn near melted in your mouth. The chef was so happy when I personally thanked him. It’s been fun but I will be ready to head home tomorrow. We will stop in Brownsville at the gulf shrimp outlet to bring back shrimp for our shrimp boils in Minnesota. That place smells so fishy it literally gags me and that’s while I’m sitting in the car with the air on, but it tastes wonder.
Tomorrow our granddaughter Serena is having surgery on her thyroid, she is asking for prayers and good thoughts. Hoping for only good news.
Take care.

One of my favorites. You took black fabric with words and set it off properly with the yellow, red & orange I have this fabric, or maybe had it. I put it on the back of a circular table runner.

Good morning. Lstew’s package arrived yesterday. We’re getting closer to being done!
Terriamn, loved reading about your adventure. I know exactly what you mean about the pelicans. Odd birds! It all sounds wonderful except for the fish smell. lol. I’ll keep your DGD in my thoughts for an excellent outcome.
SBG, happy Marty is tolerating the fasting so far. The harness is a great idea.
Today is completely open except for making a Mediterranean Cabbage soup. Tomorrow the grand girls come for their visit. I cleaned out the spare room of all the fabric so they have plenty of space for all their accoutrements they inevitably bring with them. The weather is supposed to get into the 60s so we won’t be stuck inside the whole time. Am looking forward to having them here.
it’s coffee time!

Sewbiz- I've been in your shoes (as I'm sure many of us have been as well) and wish you all the best with your sweet pooch. Last night I dreamed about my Barney. I was thinking about Marty and all you're going through and it must have gone into my dream. He's been gone a long time but is still in my heart. If Marty could talk he would surely tell you how much he knows he's loved.
Hav, that block is awesome!!
Janice, how old are your girls? School age?

MJP, thanks for that explanation of atmospheric river. Sounds like a very long rain cloud. With lots of rain!
Marty did fine with fasting, and when he got to the vets they draw a baseline blood, and then give him the fatty food to eat. It STUNK! Like canned cat food, only a bigger can. But the stinkier, the better to Marty. He gobbled down two cans of it. Yay. So they will do two more blood draws and see how well his liver is handling the fatty food. Then I'll go pick him up, probably around 2. I'm home now and boy does the house sound quiet. On the way home I stopped and bought a nice, fat doggy bed for him. He needs it now. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers for Marty.
I prayed all would go exceptionally well for Serena today. Good news only!
Janice, enjoy those grandgirls!

Marty's home. I bought him a new, bigger, squishier bed and he won't go anywhere near it. But I have a few tricks up my sleeve. The vet determined Marty has 60% liver function. He said that's treatable with special food and liver support meds. He said God gave us all way more liver than we actually need. Marty will be fine with 60%. Now we just need to get his pain from arthritis under control. I hope he uses the new bed because it will help him be more comfortable when he's down. But the bills! I had to pay half today and the other half next month. Senior dogs are expensive. But I'll get him whatever he needs.

SBG, good news to hear Marty is back home. Ernie has liver disease and he takes meds and has a special diet. He’s doing great so I expect Marty will do so as well. I hope Marty comes to love his new bed.
How are the few who haven’t shipped yet? Busy sewing? Reminder to please ship by Monday at the latest. I really want to be able to get everyone’s blocks out before Thanksgiving.
Tonight the grands come. Woo hoo!

Yeah Marty, so glad for the good news.
WMUT I have gone shopping several times to add browns to my stash and have gone home empty handed. But now it gives me something to look for when we stop at quilt stores!
Serena is resting comfortably after surgery. Doctor said surgery went well and they didn’t have to take her entire Thyroid.
Grandson accepted a scholarship at the University of South Dakota for next year. Funny his sister is in college in North Dakota.
