Don't worry about your colors. I just chose what I wanted to feature, what caught my eye. I went to look at your blocks and I LOVE your batiks. I have you on the list for 2026! Yay! Happy to have you back and to see the list growing. Isn't it fun to go searching for your fabric in someone else's quilt?

    Default November Candies

I received candies from QuiltingPandaBear and one from Laf2019.
My Granddaughter, Macie and two of my adult children, Jamie and Jacob were here for the weekend to celebrate my birthday and to accompany me to the hospital on Tuesday.
They loved the idea of sharing the little 2.5 squares and enjoyed watching me open each envelope! There were a few extra surprises in there too!
Just an update, double mastectomy surgery went well with only the Sentinel node taken for testing. We are pretty confident that I won't need radiation or chemotherapy, but we'll wait for the Oncologist to give us the treatment plan. Arm movement is limited, so it will be awhile before I can quilt and sew!
Thank you for the candies and the thoughtful wishes!

WMUTeach, looks like I’ll actually have something to show on 2.5 day! Checkerboard Chain has its preliminary quilting lines. How many I add will depend on my mood tomorrow. It went super smoothly to this point. Thank you for being supportive!

I Brenda, I am so happy to hear from you. Thrilled that you may not needs additional treatments. We understand that quilting may be difficult for a while, but you can sit back and enjoy what others are doing.

Yay, for something for 2.5 Day Janice. I have been working on a set of Boom blocks and not even attempting to do anything for 2.5 Day. Too many UFOs and of course my group challenge quilt. I need to get some things off my sewing table and out the door. I did a ramble through old online quilt patterns and I found one that will use a kabillion 2.5" squares. So that is on my To Do List starting after Thanksgiving.

I will be cutting some squares, because I want too use up some of my autumn fabrics. I will stat with what I have from our swap first then cut as needed 16-Patch-Delight- by Lori Dickman This one has been on my To Do List for years and years.Good time to dive in and do something to check it off. .

    Happy Saturday stitching, everyone.

Brenda, so happy to hear the procedure went well and am getting fingers and toes crossed for a
speedy recover for you. I’m glad you enjoyed opening candies with family as well. During this time of rest and recovery, I hope you get quirky inspiration for what you want to work on as soon as you are able.

So I go away for four days of camping and there is so much creativity.
Thank you for looking up the pattern. I figured out using candy it would be 16" block and using a different color for each block may be interesting. It is amazing how different the blocks look with different fabrics
And those quilts - wowser. Love the simplicity of the checkerboard chain just screams softness .

Well I looked at my stash and debated on another candy year. But I took one of the containers which had just one color in it. I started cutting before we left, and just finished, and have cut 50 different fabrics with more in the container! oh my, how did my stash get so huge??

Thirteen of us, so far, are returning. Great! I better get cracking on some more cutting. Must finish quilting checkerboard chain first.

    Have a lovely day.
