Good morning.

GramE, those packages do slip and slide! I’ll look for your package to start its travels on Monday. I’m excited to see the piece Libster made for you. I miss her in our swaps.

I miss Libster too!

Pretty squirrels quilt, WMUT. Nice quilting too. I machine bind all of my quilts and it goes so quick. I sew the folded binding to the back, and then narrowly topstitch it on the front. The more you do, the better you get.

Let’s try the wall hanging again. This was made by Libster but I have no idea when. If I had to guess I would say around 2016-17. It was a wall hanging swap and she got my name. I agreed to take an overseas name. I believe it was Australia (so not sure).

Janice, what kind of a setup do you have? Is your machine a Juki? I'd love to hear about it. I may invest in something that's not too big. I have a Juki 2010 that I love. I'd like to do more quilting myself if I can find the right setup for me.

SusieQ, I have the straight stitch Juki TL2010Q and it does everything I need for piecing and quilting. For quilting, I move to the dining room table but for all other stitching I have a table in my sewing room where I work. It goes up and down in height depending upon whether I’m cutting or piecing. I have a little travel Janome that has zigzag and a few other stitches and a 42 yo Kenmore in a sewing table that is a dinosaur but is now working again following a spa treatment. I can handle small quilts on the Juki but leave the bigger ones to a long armer. I’m finishing up a quilt top now on the dining room table and there’s plenty of room and it slides like a dream across the wood. Pic below. Hope this helps.

Sbg, thinking about Libster brought up some other missing quilters…Jaba, Givio, Joanelizbay and Seasaw2mch.

Thank you for the unique and beautiful block GramE. I know my grandson will love it.

I spent the rainy days making mug rugs and pot holders for Xmas gifts. The African pot holders are for us, as my Day of the Dead ones got Burned. I’m trying not to out live my fabric but I think its hopeless. Several older quilters gave me their stash when they moved into nursing homes. I gave a lot away when we made masks in the pandemic but I still have a lot left.

Any way these are what I made: 10 mug rugs and 9 pot holders. I didn’t include the duplicates. A good rainy day project that took me almost 3 days. I don’t know how y’all sew so fast.

Mjp, love your potholders and mug rugs. The African fabrics are beautiful. Almost 20 in three days is impressive. Hope the rain is over.

Got sidetracked with HOA work for DH and didn’t have enough time to finish the quilt. Well there’s time in the morning tomorrow.

I know that quilt Janice Mc C! Looking forward to seeing the finish. That is a great set up using your dining room table.

I finished the two color Boom Quilt that I posted yesterday. I sat down and gathered my courage and did machine binding. Well, what do you know it is as easy as all the You Tubers said it would be. Perfect? Nah, but not too bad for a first time out. I will absolutely do machine binding again, particularly on donation quilts that I don't want to invest hours of hand work, (I want to save my hands for the special quilts in my life.)

I did get motivated this afternoon to make a list of the quilts that are hanging about waiting for attention from me. I have 13 on the list and just thought of another bin that is holding some others like "A Farmer's Wife". I also have a few kits that have been donated to me. A different category of work but I would like to move them on also. Looks like '26 will be a year of finishes with a few new creations tossed in for good measure. Of course there will be booms in the mix.

Tomorrow, I will take a better outdoors photo of my latest Boom 32 Squirrels in its final pose so it can enter the finished gallery.

You are are so productive! The Libster wall hanging is a precious way to remember her. Hopefully she is able to quilt in heaven!

My blocks are in the mail scheduled to arrive on the 20th. Janice, I will be sending you the tracking number via quiltingboard PM because I'm at work and need to get off private sites, ASAP. I hope to post pictures tonight after I return home.

Everyone, your fabrics were fun to work with! I hope your Monday is spectacular because we need some spectacular days thrown in now and again.
