Quossum Bonnie's quilts are intense, but I've never seen anyone provide instructions that are as good as her are. I'm sure that if you have time, you can do it!
My Old Town - last year's mystery - is on the design wall. The sashing units are giving me fits. The 1-1/2" x 2" FG are perfect, but where they come together with the "snowballed" rectangle... Ugh. I cannot get those points to lie nicely together. It is what it is; I would never have a quilt judged (way too stressful!) and make them for my own pleasure and enjoyment. So. If they are off a smidge, they are off a smidge.
I guess I am more likely than not to join in again as I just ordered a black background (Sparkles on Black by Figo). Once again, I am changing my colors from those suggested. I won't be sure what they will be until I see the background in person, but am thinking coral, magenta or fuchsia and a yellow. It's going to be very, very bright, that's for sure. I don't remember the last time I used only one background fabric, so hope I don't end up regretting it.

Yay Quossum -- one of us! one of us! Come down off the fence, the fabric is fine in the deep end
Start/first clue is one week from today!
I think a couple of us will be working with black as a background. It is always so fun to see the similarities and differences between our choices and sometimes to be seeing a familiar fabric in someone else's bundle.

I've finished all of my Indigo Way blocks, half and quarter blocks. I'm putting together the triangle borders now, which is going quickly, and can then begin putting the top together! Sometimes it felt like that day would never come. Meanwhile, waiting eagerly for our first L&L clue.

Wow, Joe'smom, good for you! Must really feel good to get those pieces put together. To go directly from one Bonnie to another seems rather daunting, but you've had that project nagging at the back of your mind for awhile. LOL, or maybe not! But you are going forward so again, good for you
I am at rather loose ends right now... I do like to have a bit of sewing each day but I'm not starting anything and I'm keeping my schedule clear. Today I am going to put back all this fabric I've been playing with and get my desk top clear again, too.
How are the rest of you doing with your color selections?? I've had so much fun playing with and shopping my stash.
I really like some of the options already announced, like the one color all solids in beach tones (sorry forgetting the participant but remembering your choices!!). As tempted as I am to play with the pinks and purples, I am going the Monochrome option. I think about 3?? of us are using Black as a neutral.
The first clue is this coming Friday -- I expect to be slicing and dicing by this time next week!

Ice, it sounds like you are prepping for the first clue. A clear desk and sewing area and you are ready to dive in start cutting and piecing. The fence is starting to bother me, but I haven't fallen off yet. I keep looking at those paint chips and trying to image what the colors will look like in Bonnie's style. Hummmmm...........

Well… while I did buy some pinks and purples, I have tons and tons of say, blues and greens. I might change colors, if I think it won’t make me too confused when I’m trying to follow the directions. Still kind of thinking about this…

It can get confusing. One of the first things I do when I print out the clues is mark the directions with the colors that I am using. Especially if I use one of the colors in the clue in another spot.

The big thing Quossom, is that you can tell your color groups apart. However you do that, is up to you. Some of us can swap colors in and out without much fuss. My husband, on the other side just cannot visualize what "exactly like that red quilt but in blue" means to me. He just can't get it. Can't put clothes together unless he sees them on a mannequin or jeans + top of some sort... Same thing with looking at houses, he just can't see the basic room without the stuff in it or the color it already is.
I write in big bold colored marker my color changes on my print outs. Bonnnie designed Old Town (last year) to be made with what turned into Blue stars but I was set on using a particular fabric in my stash and blue did not play well. Ended up with Yellow = Blue written all over my notes. I also deal with vision issues -- I write a large (full page sized) note for each week clue saying what colors I am using, along with those translations and tape that to the wall above my desk so I can look and see easily without going to my notebook.
