It’s stone cold silent! I took a week off from work this week. Started holiday decorating last Friday, will likely get the (artificial) tree up this weekend.
Saturday I took my MIL out to a large holiday bazaar and lunch which was good fun.
Sunday I started my rumballs. This year I made half of them espresso/whiskey, and half of them coconut/rum. I also assembled advent bags for my partner and MIL.
Monday I shipped my secret Santa package, ran errands, did some planning and long-lead ordering for a holiday craft I am working on for my partner’s gift. I also harvested all my carrots from the yard and cleaned the garage for winter, brought in the hoses and pots and covered spigots.
Today I finished the rumballs, roasted up all the carrots (maple glazed), and had to work a couple hours.
through it all, I already have holiday movies or tunes on. Makes it all feel more like Santa’s workshop than a sweatshop. 😅

The last item for my SS arrived today so I've got that wrapped and ready for posting tomorrow. I hope it gets thru customs as we have to say where items originated from and that's not easy. That last item I got was bought from the eastern states in Australia but originated in the USA. Time will tell I guess

My ornament package sent to Roseirish got there 11/12/25. The post office said they delivered it to a person at the door at 11:29 am Maybe computer problems?? I didn't take a picture of the goodies I sent. I have shingles for three months now, so it was a hard job this year.

@RedGarnet222 I’m sorry to hear about your shingles! They are quite nasty and can really take you down for a long time. Be patient with your body. Sending healing vibes your way.

Oh no, RedGarnet!! I am so sorry! Shingles is horrible. If you haven't tried taking L-Lysine to see if it calms it down, you might want to try that amino acid. It helps quell fever blisters (another herpes virus). I'm sure you are doing everything you can to get that to go away but if you have suggestions for the rest of us, don't hesitate to share. Healing prayers and quilty hugs from this lurker.

Thank you both for your prayers ladies. I have never had herpes, but, they say that chicken pox that you had when you were a kid can come back in this way. There is a shot that you can go and get to lower your risk of getting shingles. You can get it at walmart or anywhere you get your flu shot. My hubby and his whole family got it when they found out what I am going though. I talked my older sister into getting it. I just can't tell you how important this is. My god! I have been in excruciating pain. Hubby has bought me a pharmacy of products to try and help.
