Had a great Thanksgiving, today we are enjoying the quiet and leftovers. Tomorrow we are supposed to receive 10" of snow, it is a bit early in the season to deal with this, but we have plenty of gas for the snowblower and generator should we need to use it. It's been over a decade since we have been snowed in, I'm kinda looking forward to it.

Terri, you have delt with a lot of sadness this year. Being a good listener and consoling those in need is a blessing during those hard times. You asked a while back if there are many homes for sale in our area, right now there isn't many to pick from. When we bought 14 years ago, there were so many homes on the market. Prices have escalated in the past several years, it's hard to imagine the amount of money we could sell our home for now.

Janice, glad to see you are feeling better enough to want to be in your sewing room. Hope your DH feels better real soon.

SBG, hope you had a great time spending Thanksgiving dinner with your family.

I see NZQuilter had her 8th baby, another girl. So happy she and the baby are doing well, hoping one day she will be able to join the swap with us again.

My blocks arrived!!! Wow! The post office is back on track!

Janice thank you for the fabric patterns and all the work you did to make sure that everyone got their treasures!

I am so grateful to each and every one of you. I'm about to open my beautiful blocks now and already know that I am going to be dazzled by them.

Yay to NZ and her eighth baby. What a fun place her house must be! I consider all of you nurturers, too. You listen, you care, you share. You are all such a blessing to have in my world. Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

The tracking still says delivery by 9:00PM today...........but well it is 8:21 and no package. I will wait until tomorrow or the original date of Monday, December 1. I am excited to dig into my new blocks, but I really do have plenty to accomplish between now and the arrival time.

Awaiting a truckload of snow tomorrow. Cold and windy to make it seem a bit miserable today. I trudged out to empty the trash and to return fall decor to storage in the garage, burrr. It is winter weather in the mitten state.

It’s here! Yeah my package arrived, maybe it will motivate me to get back in the sewing room.

My depression is getting much better. I am almost afraid to say that because last time I crashed after saying it. Still working on the panic and anxiety attacks.

TG funny you said that about thrift shops, my last two carry on’s were from our second hand shop in town. My current one was bought new and didn’t last nearly as long as the thrift shop ones.

I am so happy for NZ!

Janice hope you and dh are on the road to recovery.

Good morning! It's great to read your news! Glad Janice is feeling better and I'm happy for all those who have received their block packages. Tracking says my package was delivered yesterday but we are still in Memphis. I'll get it tomorrow night when we get home.

Marty continues to deteriorate. The lesion on his elbow, which started as a small rug burn, is now huge and painful. I don't see how that can ever heal. He isn't walking hardly at all, except when we take him out to potty with his lifting harness on. I am sorry we even brought him to Memphis, because the long car ride wasn't easy for him. I am thinking after he gets home again he needs to be put down. It kills me to say that, but I can't stand to see him suffer like he is... in pain all the time. OLD AGE SUCKS! So it's been a fun holiday with the kids, but a sad one too.

Today we are going out 'thrifting' (hubby and I), while the kids put up the tree and decorate it. That's our activities for today.

Congrats to NZQuilter on baby #8! Wow, she's amazing. When she first started with the Booms she had just the first two little girls.

My package arrived today! I was so surprised by the patterns. I had forgotten all about choosing them from Janice's collection from her quilting friend. Thank you, for the new challenges and a bit of stitching fun, Janice. I think I see a quick Christmas project in my future. SBG, I am so sad for you and your pup. It is always heart breaking to have to make that decision, but it sounds like you are being compassionate. It was nice that the grands had some time with him this weekend even if he wasn't at his best.

I spent the morning at my quilt group's work day but left early because the weather was getting worse. Not as much white "fluffiness" as predicted.........yet. Roads were slick and the interstate was slowed down to 50 MPH. Thank goodness the traffic was light this afternoon. Glad to be nested in my snug home with the Michigan vs Ohio football game and a whole bunch of blocks to play with.

SBG -- sorry to hear about Marty and the sore that refuses to heal. That does sound very painful. How is your hubby holding up with that?

Terriamn, the note with your block said the ocean is your favorite, too. Everyone in my family loves the ocean, too. I think it is the mesmorizing sound of the waves coming and going. I am glad you get to spend time on the Texas coast.

Janice -- funny story.... the Carolina Shop Hop pattern from your quilting frient is a setting pattern only. I am now following all rabbit holes to find the block patterns featured and am using that setting pattern (modified for 20 blocks instead of 14) to get my Patriotic BOOM blocks into a flimsy by Christmas. This is a perfect pattern for that. Please than your friend for me again, for shared treasures. It is very entertaining. It has been a lovely Thanksgiving all around.

Good evening. I’ve been resting all day but I have a cough that won’t quit. I’m worn out. Same with DH although he took on a stuck trip lever that controls the drain in the spare bathroom bathtub. It was stuck so the tub wouldn’t drain. A bunch of elbow grease, some tools and a YouTube video and he got it unstuck and cleaned. Now it works! Saved an expensive plumbers visit. Woo hoo. Good use of a boring afternoon.

Glad your packages are coming in. Remember to check that all 19 packages are there.

SBG, sorry to hear about Marty. I’ll keep him in my thoughts.

Ibex, a setting scheme is more valuable to me than simply block patterns. Hope you’ll be able use it in some form.

The neighbor/friend whose items many of you received has had another fall, breaking her femur. She’s in rehab now. She’d only been home for a couple of months from a compound tib fib break. Poor thing cannot catch a bit of luck. Her husband and daughter are quite distraught over her latest injury.

Terriamn, grab hold of your improved mood and smile. I’m very happy for you.

Back to the football game on tv and my chamomile tea.
