Oh what a fun and busy day, my sister and I volunteered to help the clubhouse decorate for Christmas. There were 10 good size artificial trees to decorate and of course the one my friend Kelly and I were working on was the only one that the lights didn’t work on. It was a good comedy but all worked out in the end! Then to the kitchen to help prep food for the big fish fry tomorrow night.
WMUT your festive party sounds like so much fun. Have you made the Apple Cranberry pie before? Your cheese log sounds delicious. Most of my cheese log recipes call for walnuts, might have to try and substitute them for pecans
My bones were aching something fierce yesterday, wasn’t able to sit comfortably to sew and sure couldn’t stand to bake. Hopefully this afternoon I can accomplish something

Sorry your bones hurt Terri... arthritis?
WMUT your Cranberry Christmas sounds so yummy!
I am really enjoying everyone's Christmas activities and living vicariously through you.
Today was a gut-wrenching day for hubby and I. Marty is no longer with us! We went to the vet to recheck his lameness, and found out he had an aggressive cancer eating at his knee joint. No wonder he went lame and went downhill so fast. I have a big headache from crying all day. I lost my best friend and one of the dearest loves of my life! Hubby and I are devastated.

Oh, SBG, you have my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved Marty. Hugs. Many hugs.
Health wise, We’re doing much better now. I went all night last night without a single cough. Copious amounts of tea and water are all I’m drinking. No coffee for now. I think tomorrow will be a totally normal day! Over two weeks is a long time to be sick. DH is feeling equally well so things are looking way up here. Still no restart on Boom 33 blocks. Maybe tomorrow.
Michelle-quilts, I hope GramE will post the missing link when she sees our posts. I’m interested, too.
WMUTeach, your Cranberry Christmas sounds magical. I’ll bet the shortbread cookies with jam are delicious! Here’s a little note to those who love 2-1/2 candy squares that WMUTeach has posted next year’s Birthday swap thread. I think we’ve already got 16 participants but some more would be nice. There are a plethora of ideas in each year’s swap so please consider it! If you have any questions, reach out to WMUTeach as she’s our fearless leader.
Oops, football’s on tv. Hope it’s a good game.
Good evening, Boomers!

OH, SBG, my thoughts are with you. I understand. I have had a number of my four-footed kitty friends leave my care and it hurts, really hurts.
Thanks for the promo, Janice. We can always use a few more swappers in the Birthday Swap group, It is a fun way to lose some fabric from your stash but to gain some new fresh fabric and lots of ideas for how to put those little squares to use whether you are stitching for yourself or for donation,
This morning is final baking day and then off to the Christmas Tea. I decorated my table last night and look forward to spending some time with friends around candle lit festive tables nibbling on special treats. Pictures will follow maybe tomorrow.

SBG sending you and hubby huge virtual hugs, my heart breaks for you
We had sad news today, dh’s brother passed away this morning. He had had 2 strokes and dementia at only 76. Even though he was on hospice we weren't expecting it this soon. Waiting to hear on arrangements, might be leaving for Minnesota sooner than planned. Thankful I started my bread baking early

Oh Sewbizgirl. I feel your pain. Our Corgi that we’d raised from a pup was scheduled for surgery on a Monday, was running in the yard the Saturday before surgery but then she didn’t eat her supper. I wound up cuddling her in my lap until she stopped breathing at 5am. She had come to me about 11pm and I’m sure she knew she was leaving us and she wanted to be held. She didn’t move after she laid on my lap. We think her infection must’ve made a serious turn for the worse.
Even 4 years later, pictures of her make me stop and reflect. She was a one of a kind dog as I hear Marty Was to you. It changes the dynamic of your whole house. It seems as if everything is hard. When you love much, the grieving is deep. I’m so sorry for you.
I’m so sorry about your brother-in-law, Terri. Prayers up for your family. ♥️

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Our veterinary clinic was very kind and sensitive, too. I just need the strength to go through the day without crying. It's probably too soon to expect that.
Today we are outside digging Marty's grave. We took a lot of time and thought about where that should be. He's going to be laid to rest on a little rise at the opening of the woods, in view of the house. It's an area he loved to walk, chase deer and play in. I will be less anxious once he is buried in his new special place.
Terri, I am so sorry for you and your hubby, losing his brother. Sometimes the end does come fast when people are put on hospice. Big hugs and prayers for your family. Will you fly to the funeral? It's such a long drive!
We will get on the road this weekend, for a long drive (6 hours) to South Louisiana for my hubby's brother's funeral. He passed just before Thanksgiving so the family waited until now to have the funeral.
So much sadness...
