Thanks, everyone for making me so welcome in your group! :-) And thanks for that fantastic idea, travelinggramma. I'm struggling with getting into the sewing room these days as life is rather chaotic, but that is such a simple yet striking block and I have SO many scraps, maybe you have given me an opportunity to start a leader/ender-type project that I can do in little blocks of time. :-)

Well, I just had to snap a photo and post it knowing you could relate. I was trying a new cookie recipe and I was directed to cut 2.5" squares that were 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Okey dokey, I say! I stepped into my sewing room a grabbed my ruler and cut some really accurate 2.5" squares of cookie dough. I even squared up the sides of the cookie dough rectangle before cutting the 2.5's. Habit of course wink, wink. I filled each square with a dollop of jam and folded the corners on the diagonal pressing the points together and baked. What a bunch of silliness to use my love of 2.5's and my quilting tools to make Christmas baking easier. Have any of you done this goofy thing?

My December candies went out a few days ago. Considering weather, I figure you will have them on time.

I want to thank everyone for such lovely candles and extras. All such -precious fabrics.

I hope all of your thanksgiving activities were great. We did our yearly tradition, (which I love). Sleep in, watched chiefs lose (depressing, but they forgot to play well together). Then we went to Cracker Barrel for thanksgiving dinner. The weather was cold, but not snowy or icy. During the evening we watched Hallmark Christmas shows. Then it was bed time.

For my birthday, Hubby and I went out for dinner at local restaurant and I worked on organizing my spare bedroom which has several of my future quilt tops. It was a nice enjoyable relaxed birthday. A week prior to my birthday, hubby pointed out on the internet a quilt kit and scrappy quilt pattern, which can be FPP or sewing) that I think is gorgeous. Then I saw a FPP rose pattern which I plan on making an enlarged twin top.

WMUTeach your blocks look lovely. I enjoy seeing all the finished WIP, completed topts/quilts everyone.

For my next quilt project (1 of many I plan to start in the next quarter), using 2.5” squares I’m going to start working on my cotton cuts mystery QAL which just ended. It uses 2.5” squares for 9-patches. If you go on the internet and check the Cotton Cuts = Island hopping QAL 50-mystery to see the completed project. A little pricy, but I enjoy making these throw size tops. I plan to make them for my Christmas gifts to most of my nieces and nephews. I figure I will gift as I complete them for their current and future Christmas.

    well that’s all folks.

Knock, Knock, Knock. Who's There? Noah! Noah who? Noah place where I can get a good cup of hot cocoa?

Just checking in to see that all are well our group has been very quiet recently. I am supposing that you are busy filling all of your stockings and knocking out all of your shopping lists. I have been busy making non-sewing items for gifting and checking off little treats on my lists.

BTW, I "Noah" where too get a good cup of hot cocoa...my kitchen about 9:00 at night with a good book to read and a quilt to snuggle under. Have a terrific day, everyone.

I’m here! I’m here! lol. Just getting busy with the holidays. Most of the Christmas prep is done now. Just have to put up a few wreaths on the front windows. Managed a half a mile walk before Ernie turned around and let me know it was too dang cold for him. He’s soundly asleep, wrapped up in his blanket on the chair. He knows the best spots.

    Have a good day!

I’m here! Just caught up in the end of the year revelry and excesses. Struggling a bit, but surviving!

I'm here too! It is just a busy time of year. My boyfriend is buying me a new bike for Christmas/birthday and we spent all day at the bike shop. I'm feeling very spoiled right now. Also working away at quilting the behemoth I wish I hadn't started with little tiny FMQ circles. What was I thinking. I'll be really good at circles by the time I'm done.
