Default My Christmas Present to Myself

Hi All, I am excited about my Christmas present to myself (moderate please move if this is not the appropriate forum for this post). I bought a Grace Mini Quilter frame for FMQ. I have been looking at getting something for some time now. I know it is the small frame and it means a lot of shuffling of the sandwich, but it was all I really had room for (sewing room full). I will be using my Pfaff 362 for the machine as it is the only one with a large enough throat space that is not mounted in a cabinet. My DH had to lengthen the foot pedal cord for me so it would reach where I can stand comfortably. I am waiting on an open toe quilting foot for the machine (coming Tuesday according to tracking) and I need to make some Frankenstein batting. I made a practice quilt top today while waiting. Quickest top I have ever made and the squarest. Even the seams lined up for me. Go figure. Once I have the batting pieced, I will attempt to load the frame and play.

    Merry Christmas
    Shari

That is so exciting! How kind of your DH to help you get it up and running, too. You have gifted yourself wonderfully! Enjoy!!

Oh I hope you can get the speed controller that goes on the handles. That made a big improvement for my Cutie frame.

Unfortunately, I can't get the stitch regulator,. The machine I am using is not compatible with one. It is too old. It was manufactured in 1969.

I don't have a stitch regulator on my sit down longarm but have made adjustments to the foot pedal to only allow me to go at a set speed. Took some trial and error but it works well for me. I have completed many of my long waited quilt tops. Congrats on your new adventure. Enjoy!

Congrats for taking the plunge. I have been thinking about doing the same. Just haven't quite decided yet. Keep us updated as to how it's going.
