2026 Birthday Swap Sign-Up
#22
We are at 17 at the moment. Cutting 20 sets is reasonable. The group has been hovering near 20 for a number of years. We may get a couple more to join us. Feel free to mention our group in other threads or nudge QB friends too consider joining us.
I will be looking back a previous swaps in the next few days and contacting former swappers who have not returned to see if a personal invite will bring them back for another swapping year.
Thanks for the photos and suggestions, Pamelor. Good suggestions. I always take in my first envelope and go through the process of having it weighted and measured and then make all envelopes the same. The subtle fear of a misscount or a poorly cut square got to me also so I toss in a few spares too. Just in case.
Here is another layout option from a couple of years ago. It keeps the package thin and have not had a failure yet.
**** Hint: If your envelopes are thin, some folks run scotch tape around the edges to prevent any damage to the envelop and loss of candy. A long number of years ago I did receive a birthday swap package in a plastic bag from the Post Office because their machine damaged a very thin envelope. Normal weight envelopes do just fine.

We have a new swapper joining us for 2026, JulieG. She comes with years of quilting experience and leadership in an amazingly active guild and was highly recommended. We now number 18 enthusiastic swappers. We still have room for more!

Hello everyone,
I just let WMUTeach know that I will be backing out of the 2026 swap. I have not been able to keep up on the thread this year as much as I had hoped and I do not foresee my plate getting any emptier in 2026. I have greatly enjoyed the last 2 years of being a member of this swap. I joined when the wall hanging swap group suddenly dissolved. I am hoping to still chime in every now and then, and I will try to post pics of projects as I finish them. I wish everyone a great Holiday Season. Thank you again, and hopefully I will be re-joining in 2027.
With Sadness, Heather

Hey, Heathermom2opmc,
There's lots of room in the bleachers to watch the swapping going on, and you're more than welcome to join me up here. Hopefully you'll be able to join the swap again once the earth settles a bit more firmly beneath your feet. In the meantime, welcome to the lurkers club! :-)
