Well, as I wasn't able to get the Forest Floor king size quilt quilted, I'll be starting on that this month, custom quilted. Then just to shut my sister up, I'll work on my french braid quilt for my own bed. I found someone to give my Tree of Life panel quilt I designed myself to so now I have a reason to finish it too and gift it. I have 2 oversized laps to make for some single men in my congregation and that will finish everyone there plus a couple oversized laps and/or twin size quilts I can give to our local thrift shop auction when it comes up. Other than that, I have no other projects on the list but you never know what might tweak my interest searching thru the web at quilts others have made. Have a large stash of fabric to use up so need to find a use for them.

My goal is to simply enjoy the Quilting Journey for 2026.

I am a restless quilter and will focus on projects or techniques as I wish. No rules or deadlines in my sewing room!

    Happy 2026 y'all!

I've got 3 WIPs that I would like to get done (I generally get very stressed out when I have a WIP, I typically do one thing at a time) and other than that, my goal for the year is to have fun, I do have lots of friends having babies so I plan to make lots of burp cloths and baby blankets and things...it's wild at my age, I have an empty nest, I've got friends my age with grandchildren and yet I have friends slightly older with newborns! I'm looking forward to holding and sniffing the heads of the new babes and then handing them back to their parents! LOL

Hey, y'all I am impressed with the many thoughtful responses to this goals question. I read everything from simply making space to not feeling obligated to use everything in a stash. Selling excess, donating excess, making what YOU want to make all seem like healthy ways to enjoy our craft.

We all want to reduce but your thoughtful goals have been an encouragement to think positively about using the fabric and tools we have at hand. Thank you everyone. Happy 2026 quilting!

I have 2 quilts partially done that I'd like to finish. New potholders all around for the family. More throw pillows for the back porch. Most of all, I want to reduce my stash and organize it into a smaller space. (I've been saying that for years...c'est la vie.)

Me, too! And use some of my stash.

2026 Goals is to just get back on track. After unexpectedly losing my husband Jan 2024, completely losing my mojo, tackling some much-needed home repairs, adjusting to added responsibilities-I just want to get back on track best I can, maybe won't be what I completely envisioned... but something similar.

    My goals:
    • finish up with my remaining lingering UFO’s, some from many years ago
    • organize my books and patterns
    • organize my kits and start in on completing them
    • shop my stash first, only buy if needed for a project
    • challenge myself with more “difficult” patterns
    • learn to paper piece
I love seeing the variety of goals here! Good luck, everyone!

I need to stop accepting others stash. There is plenty of my own to work from.

Here, here, cjsews. Accepting from others can be a trap for me too. Learning to graciously say "No, thank you I have enough", is hard. Keep reminding us that this is a way to not increase our stash and keep us organized. Rather than accepting additional stash, maybe suggest that another newer quilter be offered the stash. I have at least 4 UFO's that are not mine but projects that came to me when a good friend had to give up quilting and I accepted a lot of her stash......nearly 5 years ago.
