Thx WMUT, we did google the shirt and tried most of the suggestions. My sister has a can of the spray for removing wrinkles that we will try next. Very frustrating.

Yuck I only slept 3 hours last night and today is going to be a busy day. It’s time to help at the clubhouse removing all the Christmas trees and decorations. If dh is feeling better he plans on helping. Then off to the post office, meeting friends at the pool and a potluck to prepare for and attend.

Our latest symptoms are that hurtful tickle in your throat followed by coughing. Not very painful but very irritating ! Crossing my fingers that this is the end of the crud. Thankfully the sinus infection is all cleared up.

The weather forecast for the upcoming week is very warm and sunny and the following week 20 degrees cooler. We will enjoy pool time and the following week we can do outside chores in the cooler weather

My boom blocks are on the design wall but so far a setting hasn’t jumped out at me. Funny when friends go in the sewing room and see the blocks, everyone offers their unsolicited advice on where to move the blocks around. I literally took them out of the bags, ironed them and put them on the wall. Haven’t even started to arrange then yet.

Terriamn, how nice to have friends who offer free advice! Now all you need to do is to get them to assemble the blocks for you and you will be ready to take suggestions for how to quilt it. Te-Hee-Hee!

Hello friends. I think I went down some kinda of rabbit hole. I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year. I’ve been nursing a bad bum knee for a month. I’m waiting on next available appointment to get an injection. Next available was 28 days out! First doc said I have arthritis but he was a bit too looney for me. Challenged every answer I gave to his questions and he was questioning me on things that had nothing to do with my knee. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. But I’m confined to my chair and my walker. I haven’t been able to get my blocks out and I’m chomping at the bit.

I’m sorry to have just disappeared. I think my brain just had too much to process. I’m happy to hear that you made it to the southern hemisphere, or close to it, Terri.

GramE, pain has a magnificent way of keeping us off track and away from what we love. I am also waiting for an injection but I have a few questions before the scheduled appointment, end of January for me too. Months of PT and testing but that has been unsuccessful at getting me back to normal. I can sit just fine. In fact.... too much so I have continued to stitch away at my machine. We each work out these things individually. Hope you get relief ASAP.

I couldn’t do physical therapy I was in too much pain. Even had to postpone my annual exam, to much pain to get on the table. But I got my injection yesterday. My NP was very steady and I had kinda used a topical to reduce the pain from the jab and she used that freezing spay, I commented that I thought she was heading past the freezing point into dead tissue. She just grinned. I only felt pressure. She put a lot of fluid in my knee so there was a bump. But she put lidocaine in first to have initial numbing until the steroids took effect in 5-7-10 days. I’m on the tail end of that spectrum. What I get first is insomnia and starvation at about 1am. No bad food allowed because if it isn’t nailed down I’m going to eat it. Last night it was a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich. But I’m just now eating my breakfast. 🥴

I’m on light duty for a few days. But I can deal with that. I’m just hoping that the left knee doesn’t throw a hissy fit. Cooking is about the extent of my activity. That seldom if ever stops here! My hubby thinks he lives in a duplex with Cracker Barrel!

I kept calling every other day to see if they had any cancellations and could get me in sooner. It worked. I gained a week! I hope yours goes smoothly.

Good morning, Boomers. I’m sitting here writing this in lieu of sleeping because I spent hours yesterday napping. I was down with a head cold and congestion and my body just feels worn out from being sick on and off since November. Plus I have a serious streak of laziness of late that I had just begun to get a handle on when I got knocked down again over the weekend. Oh, well, I’m feeling well this morning so I’ll see if I can get out for a walk.

I’m still doing the decluttering program. We’re on scissors today. It reminded me I need to have a pair sharpened but otherwise I’m good in this department. I do have quite a few pairs but the all have special purposes so other than relocating a pair or two that migrated to the sewing room, my work is done. When we get to fabric, that’s when all heck will break loose in there!

Good to hear from you GramE! I’m sorry you are having to deal with a very troublesome knee. I empathize. My knee is back to 98 percent but when it was painful it affected every part of life as you well know. I hope your injection works well for you and that you can resume your regular activities. As for the cooking, maybe it’s time you and hubby go out to Cracker Barrel instead of being Cracker Barrel! At least once in a while if you’re up to it. Re: Boom blocks, they’ll be there when you’re ready.

My boom blocks from 33 are still on my design board. Three more to quilt then it’s time to put them together. The decluttering challenge has preempted my sewing for now.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful beginning to 2026. Have a great day.

My slump started in ... December. I managed to get a quilt finished for my granddaughter but I was sewing the label on the night before I was to travel to see her. I had plenty of time to finish earlier, just not all that much motivation. Boo Hoo!

I did spend time this afternoon with my Zoom quilting friends and I am making progress on my on my AQS Guild Challenge quilt. More blocks tonight then perhaps a few more tomorrow. I need 144 and have 54 finished with 20 more cut and partially pieced. Goal was to have the top finished before Christmas. Missed that Goal by a mile. Maybe a finished top by January 25. Yah, that's the ticket

Take care of all of those achy bones, knees, backs hips and stay away from the flu and colds if you can. They seem to be so nasty this winter. Many friends are suffering so I am staying away which isn't very friendly! Just phone and text contact for now.

GramE great news that you were able to have your injection a week early. Sure hope it helps

Janice dh and I are still trying to put the crud behind us. I sound like I am plugging my nose when I talk, but my throat no longer burns, my nose has slowed down and the lovely shade of red has faded. A definite sign I’m on the road to recovery

Hubby was reading an article about the impact on the top five sunbelt states with the loss of revenue due to the absence of the majority of the Canadians. I was surprised that the state that has been hurt the most so far is Georgia. Does that sound plausible Janice? California, Florida and Texas finished out the top 4 because I can’t remember the fifth state.

Weather has been so nice this week, not too hot! Weather man is still saying next week even Southern Texas will be having some of that cold from that front moving across the US. Just hope there isn’t a freeze, many of the shrubs and trees are just recovering and growing in height from the last big freeze in 2020.

Terriamn, it completely surprised me that GA is adversely impacted by the loss of Canadians to the area. I don’t believe in the entire 27 years I lived there I ever met a Canadian other than a family who moved to our town for the husband’s work promotion. It must have been tourism to Atlanta and the coast, which is beautiful. Glad you continue to feel better. This nasty stuff going around is quite hard to shake.

Wmuteach, you’ve only temporarily lost your sewing mojo. It will pass and you’ll be back to full steam in due course.

I spent several hours at our neighbors’ house today sitting with the wife and her daughter. The husband needed a bit of a break from taking care of his wife so he went off for a few hours while I just chatted with the women. They wanted to meet Ernie so he came over with DH for a short visit. He was too curious about his surroundings to be very interested in mere people when he had a whole new house to sniff. Our visit went very well and I’m thinking about offering to visit on a weekly basis so the husband can have a break without having to worry about the family.

Today’s decluttering is supposed to handle thread. Well, I discovered in the last week a lot of old spools I’d forgotten about. It might be tougher than I initially thought to sort and dispose of those I don’t really use any more. The colors are so pretty! lol. I plan to set them aside and if I have room at the end of the challenge, I might display them in a glass container. We’ll see.

That’s it for me. I’m finally off to sleep. Enjoy your upcoming weekend.

I haven't watched today's Declutter Challenge yet but can guess that if the thread is old....toss it out but it it is good use it. I did a deep dive into thread when COVID 19 hit. I started just using it all as I pieced quilt tops. I used massive amounts of odds and ends of thread that year. I kept the empty spools in a two-quart green glass canning jar that was from my grandmother's home. I filled it with empty spools in one year. Lots of thread OUT and who sees if the thread is pink or gray, or green when it is tucked inside the top of a quilt. Time to watch today's video to see what Karen suggests!
