Default Fabric still a mountain, not a mole hill

Using left over jelly rolls to make strip pieced blocks. Need 63 and have sewn 30, almost half. Sadly, the pile of fab on my sewing table does not seem to be getting smaller. Decided to take a break and enjoy special beverage before sewing more blocks.

I know exactly what you mean, Julie! Even though I've made at least 12-60x80, 2 at least queen size quilts, 7-various sized lap quilts, I still don't even see a dent in the least of my fabrics.

Isn't that the truth. I made an entire quilt from a bag of coordinating scraps and I am left with a quilt and a bag of coordinating scraps! Nothing seems to have changed!!

I have a basket full of fabric bundles that are four yards each I put together from my stash. I could make quilts for a whole year out of that basket. My fabric shelves are still full.

Is it because we have so much fun sewing that scrappy quilt? I made a quilt from scrappy strip blocks to use up a bin of strips. As I worked on it, I'd add more strips that came my way and in the end went from a smallish bin of strips to a big box of strips. Literally, ended with more than I started with.

So, my quilting life recently is grabbing two strips, will they be long enough? Measure. YES! Sew, press, trim. Repeat. Not enough long strips? Dig into scrappy container. Add to pile and that's why I can't see top of my sewing table. Thank heavens don't have little babies or puppies. They probably would get lost in this mess until I heard them cry.

I sew faster when I can listen to football games and two games today.

My version of scrap is now a fat quarter. The rest goes to scrap lovers in my guild. They make amazing things with scraps. I'm too busy making scraps to use them.

My scraps will likely never get used up. I've been making scrappy quilts for several years now and still have a bunch. Plus I keep buying the amazing new piece of fabric I see at the quilt store. Oh, well, I'm having a good time and that's all I'm worried about
