2026 - JANUARY BLOCK OF THE MONTH - YANKEE PUZZLE - (Link and Discussion)

Yankee Puzzle
Well ... I had intended to post this yesterday but a whole lot of little things went sideways so here we are, a day late and a dollar short.

I like this block because it looks tricky but it's good for all skill levels. It's one of many free patterns at the Generations Quilt Patterns site. There are detailed, well illustrated instructions for both paper piecing and traditional piecing, plus several sizes to choose from.
I had hoped to make the block yesterday but ... as I said ...
Fingers crossed I can knock it out today and post a photo.

Thanks! I'm excited that you haven't given up on this.
I haven't tried the paper piecing method for this but I might, just in case somebody has a question. Things usually end up backward and upside down when i try paper piecing. which me luck! lol

I've printed out the paper but I can't find the instructions. The only paper piecing I've done before were all numberd in order of what seams to sew first. This looks different. I'll see how you go, then I'll muddle thru

I've made my paper pieced block and now need to post a photo. Where do I find the link or URL to do this straight from my phone. Getting my really old computer out is a pain .TIA
