So glad to hear you are resting and taking advantage of the time to nap. The simplest of good medicine.

I have finished about 80% of my AQS Guild Challenge Quilt. I need to chose one color for an accept and am hoping to find an ombre. I will be off to Shipshewana on Monday morning with fingers crossed. Haven't found anything here in town.

In the meantime, I have been working on a scrappy square-in-a-square quilt that uses lots of scraps some of which are from our previous boom blocks. I have the center four-patches finished and the yellow background on 110. Let's just say I have lots more to go because they will finish at 3.5 or 4 inches depending on if I want to add narrow sashing.

Stitch, stitch, stitch and watch the snow fall and the temps drop.

WMUTeach, such cheery scrappy blocks! I love them. I look forward to seeing the finished top. I completed today’s Decluttering Challenge by not moving from my chair. It deals with scraps and I’m not parting with a single one! They’re under control in the closet in bins. I’m content with the current arrangement. I am going to let some more yardage go. I’ve got a laundry basket filled with yards I’m probably never going to use. It’s going to the Guild on Thursday.

This is a totally free weekend. No plans at all except a quick run to the grocery store for something to grill out tonight for dinner. It may be cold but grilling still takes place.

it doesn’t look like we got any snow but we’ll see if we got a dusting when the sun comes up.

Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? Have a grand one, Boomers.

No fun weekend plans, but lots of planning or a fun and busy week ahead. Adding triangles to more little four-patches and cutting squares for a baby quilt. Yes, that is fun work in my book.

I am busy prepping for classes and playing with grandbabies. I have some repairs to do to a quilt that my son's dog poked through with his nails but no other sewing time than that.

I love hearing about your decluttering challenge, Janice. Your blocks look like a fun project, WMUTeach.

Stay warm all. I head back to New Orleans on Monday. King Cake party time!

Good morning. Another cold one but no surprise

Today’s decluttering is batting. I need to gather up my larger pieces and consolidate them but the small, scrappy pieces will be going. Should be an easy day.

Unfortunately, with more test sewing, the Juki is still shredding thread and breaking so my last resort is to bring it in for service. The closest dealership (I believe) is in SC but I need to confirm when they reopen Tuesday. Am disappointed I couldn’t figure out the problem. I’m going to pull out my travel Janome to do a little crumb quilting just for fun. Those remaining 3 boom 33 blocks are sitting there taunting me. Discouraging.

ibex, I had to look up “king cake”. I learn something new everyday, if I’m lucky, and today King Cake is it. Enjoy!

Have a nice day all.

Hi mjp! Hope you are well. At this point I’ve watched videos galore that explain the multitudes of how to fix the problem and I’ve done everything at least three full times. I don’t mind the hour’s drive if it’ll solve the problem. I’m now assuming it just needs some kind of adjustment and a spa day. I live in hope! I’ll call Tuesday to make sure they are still the authorized rep for the area.

WMU- your blocks are so pretty!
Staying warm and cozy. My hubby is a great nurse. And of course the cats take such good care of me as well.
I've been off pain meds since day 3 and that was only Tylenol and Ibuprophen. So happy!
Still doing a lot of cross stitch. I have been enjoying it so much. Thought I was done with it but I was wrong.
Hope everyone is doing well ! Hugs to all.

Glad you are doing well, SusieQ. So glad hubby is taking good care of you. It helps immensely. What are you working on? I was an avid XS’er but my eyesight is not what it used to be. Would love to see a pic!

Back from Louisiana and the funeral of our dear friend and former pastor. It was such a wonderful, loving time being with the family and especially his wife. This precious couple were like parents to us when we first were married and lived in my hubby's home town. He was buried not far from my hubby's brother and sister and parents, in the same cemetery. So we got to visit all the family graves after the burial.
Long drive back tho... we are pooped and will just rest tonight.

Sorry you couldn't get your machine to sew right, Janice. It's so frustrating when that happens. I'm glad you have a backup for instant sewing gratification.

I have decided what kind of little gifts I will make for the retreat. In DeRidder, LA I visited a little fabric shop and found some Cajun prints like the one Juana sent for her Boom quilt last time. Not exactly the same one, but I bought a couple of other half yards from the same line. They both features crawfish and are so cute. I'm going to sew squares to a grippy backing, and make jar openers. Simple, but something everyone can use. I'll put up a picture when I have some done.

SuzieQ, so glad you are doing so well.
