I'm plugging away at finishing UFOs this month. I promised myself I could start something new only when I finished something old. With that motivation, in one week, I finished three tops that are all currently being long armed. I went on to finish another top that I'm quilting myself with my walking foot. I did start a couple of Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts that I'll continue through the year. And that's been "it." What a good feeling!

Mkotch, that is an amazing amount of accomplishments in clearing UFOs. Congratulations! Sometimes the little incentive getting to start something new is just the little "carrot" we need to nudge us forward. It worked for you for sure. Keep inspiring us and share photos as your complete those 4 quilts. Yes, a very good feeling.

That's a very fun sounding challenge, WMUTeach! I will enjoy looking on and encouraging the participants.
I will actually have some finishes to show this year, since I've been sending quilts out to be quilted. I've decided to send the tops out in the order in which I made them, so I am going back to 2013 or so!

I came up with a master plan to TRY! Rotate what I'm working on. So, rotation will/could be:
- New quilt but not a kit. When finished go to step,2.
- Grab a UFO to finish completely. When finished OK to go to step 3.
- Kit project. (Right now, WAY too many to choose from.
- Start rotation again.

Juliienm1, I like how you devised a plan that fits YOU. It seem reasonable and allows you to blend finishing UFOs and to use what is already in your stash aka Fabric Moratorium to to be a creative quilter. Three cheers for you. Keep us posted with how this is working for you. Others may adopt your plan, you never now what an inspiration you can be. 😉

Progress update: I know we were called to do item 9 from our lists this month and my 9 is Scrap As You Go Table Runner but I am doing 7 (Labyrinth Table Runner) first because 9 is Fourth of July colors and 7 is St. Patrick's Day colors. Makes sense to get the March one finished first so I can use it this year.
I am a new quilter and I began the project by trying to quilt it on my machine. Now that I have a longarm, I want to quilt it there so my progress so far was to pick out the horrible stitch-in-the-ditch attempt. I did that this weekend while binge watching Landman with my hubby.
Purchased some new backing material (something bigger for the longarm) and will use the previous backing as the binding.
Also practiced the Pantogram that I picked out this past weekend. I am now ready to load it on the longarm. I hope to be able to quilt it this coming weekend.

CardByLiesl, You have been busy and determined while tackling a piece that could easily been tossed aside. Good for you! Be sure to snap a photo when you are finished!.
I am hoping to go to a fabric shop tomorrow and purchase a backing for my UFO #9. Weather has been nasty and very cold, near Zero for two days and I chose not to go out. We have a little break before the next round of blowing snow and subzero temps. Thursday through Sunday will be a string of stay at home days. Time to sew.
Keep working on those UFO team. Hoping we can share progress from everyone this month!

Here are two of the UFOs I finished this month. The colorful one is part of "Optimism" by Aby Dolinger. The blocks were 14" and the BOM was to include 16 blocks. Mine has 12 blocks and borders using cutoffs from the blocks. It's going to be a gift for a friend who's moving to a nursing home. The black/orange one was a guild BOM. I made a block in prescribed colors for a lottery and then made a block for myself in the black/orange colorway.

Two lovely finishes, Mkotch. Congratulations on getting these off your list and into the arms of a friend and around your own shoulders. .Press on toward February! You are inspiring us to keep at it and diminish our UFO's just like Mkotch!

Wow! Those are fantastic finishes. I can't seem to get motivated to layer and quilt my UFO yet but still have some time. The photo of these two just may do the trick to get me moving again. Thanks for the inspiration.
