While digging thru my UFO container I found a large roll of fab. No idea what it was. Unrolled it and OMG! Route 66 leftovers. Something I brought home from PL at least 4 years ago. (Has it aged enough to use?) This year is the 100-year celebration of Route 66.Fabric shows lots of images you can see while driving. along this highway. Enough fab pieces to make a 50 x 50 quilt.

Will sew this up for PL and turn it in next month. Some little boy and his dad will go nuts.

Joe'smom - something is definitely off with that pattern! Where did you get it from? Is there a designer or LQS you can follow up with?

I've purchased some fabric to complete another person's project and I'm doing a red/white/blue donation to QOV. Other than that, I'm doing pretty well. Happy sewing everyone and keep that stash movin"!

It's a free pattern from Art Gallery fabrics, from years ago. I looked it up again, and the entire instructions have been revamped. So apparently it was carelessly formulated to begin with. This is a good lesson for me, to consider carefully whenever I take up a planned project that's been sitting around for years, because this big piece quilt is no longer me. But I'll follow through and see what I end up with.

Just came home from Project Linus meeting. Smaller than usual group. My donation was for two months. 9 quilts, 5 tops for Barb to finish, covered a table with fabric from my stash, and patterns I'll never miss. Whatever was left is going to another quilt group.
Felt good to see that fab go out the door. May wait a couple months and see what else I can get rid of. Only thing I brought home is kit for a small block for a gal's quilt.

Way to go, QuiltMom! I'm still trying to find the time AND the mojo to get into the sewing room - funny how the two rarely come at the same time, though! I do have a project on the go - it's just going really, really slowly right now. :-)

That's a frustrating lesson to learn, joe'smom... Hats off to you for being determined to see it through to a finish!

That's just great, Julienm1 - way to set us all a great example!

Still having computer issues but wanted to share that I've finished the centre of the quilt top I was working on (the HSTs) - I'm still trying to figure out the border - I have a piece of fabric that, if I'm really clever, could work as the border and the backing, but I'm going to have to be very intentional about how I cut it. But I'm getting closer!

Any other stories of fabric getting used up out there? :-)

I have two quilts at the long arm quilter. One finished and the second will be finished soon, like this weekend.

I will be able to send off 5 quilts to hospice and 3 to Project Linus, but I counted them as finished last year. I did give away a jelly roll and some other fabric this month to a new quilter. That was grand and since she is family, I have urged, encouraged, ok, begged to shop from my closet before she goes out to purchase fabric. I will total up my fabric OUT and just a little IN maybe by tomorrow night. More than last month but not as much as I planned. and .

I finished a Comfort quilt but it was donated with everything necessary to quilt and bind it so I didn't really move any of my stash. But it's still a finished item out the door.

I still have nothing finished, yet. I'm getting closer to finishing my Indigo Way. One set of borders on, two more to go. Maybe I'll have it finished for this month.
