WMUTeach, Not much of a secret keeper, huh? Lol. Yup, was my birthday and I spent much of it napping as I was under the weather. Today is, thankfully, much better.

Hope you had a great birthday, Janice!

I'm excited about tomorrow. The big guild is having a Sit and Sew day. We are trying to get more Quilts of Valor, so we are having a day to work on QOV blocks. I can't wait to sew all day with my buddies! Nothin' but fun.

What a nice way to create QOV quilts, SBG. I can imagine bringing in red, white blue stash and a little pot luck lunch and whallah! More blocks and quilt tops that we would make on our own. That "many hand make light work" thing applies here. Have fun while your group honors service folks with a special quilt of their own.

Phew, a good friend of my dd and her 2 children were able to fly out of Puerto Vallarta last night, we have been so concerned

Though it would be fun to make a St. Patricks Day table runner. Having an enjoyable morning checking out patterns, so many to choose from.

Good morning! Signups begin in about a month. Woo hoo!

SBG, hope your Sit and Sew day is fun!

Terriamn, glad your friend’s family got out of Mexico safely. My son and his good friend are flying into Mexico tomorrow to run a marathon. They’re not concerned as it’s far away from the trouble areas but this mother believes he should reconsider. But, he’s an adult and makes his own choices. It’s in my motherhood contract that now I shall have to worry about him and his running buddy for a week. Ugh.

We’re going to have the grands on Friday night so my DDIL can have a single night of peace in her home. Time to batten down the hatches!

Have a good day, Boomers.

Janice sounds like a fun time at your house tonight.

Temp is supposed to be 101 here today and it’s the day of the big charity event, last year the parks raised a significant amount of money for the local food bank. The bands have already been moved inside but most of the activities are outside. Hoping for a nice breeze

Janice my oldest dd has run marathons in so many countries that I felt were unsafe. I felt like she had a target on her back being a white woman with long blonde hair and at 5’10” she stuck out. Thankfully most of her marathons are now here in the states and she travels with other runners.

Finished the patriotic and loved how the raggy sash looks. Used two of the blocks to make a carry bag for it. The backing material did not shred as well but blue color still shows through. Thank you one and all for helping some veteran very happy..
I am now ready to start a new boom swap!

Terrific patriotic quilt, TG. It’ll be loved.

The girls are on their way to a birthday party. We only had one meltdown by the youngest. She still pitching a fit when she doesn’t get her way. I just make sure she’s safe and let her go. About the time she realizes she’s not the center of attention, she quits. It’s my superpower.

Monday I’m finally taking the Juki in for service. I keep stalling in order to try “all the things” one more time. No luck so have to give up. Tuesday through Thursday is the retreat and I have absolutely no idea what I’m bringing and making. Will probably grab my candy squares and make 16 patches. I keep changing my mind.

Just back from a short Ernie walk. His blood work came back with lots of conflicting info but hypothyroidism is in the mix. Great. They want to put him on L-thyroxine, twice a day for life. I need to do some research. Anyone else have a dog on it? My friend says it has a lot of side effects and she’s holding off dosing her cat with the same med as he was just diagnosed with the same problem.

it’s a gorgeous day and I’m anxious to get a little more sun on my face. Hope you all have a fine day.
