My neighbor wanted to give me 10 pounds of russet potatoes since they were going to be gone for 3 weeks. I have enough on hand so I suggested she talk to the family living next to her as they have 4 kids. Later she told me they turned her down because they said they never make potatoes ! With kids in the house, I find that unusual.

I just cut up my last two potatoes and let them dry out and sprout. They'll go into the ground next week and we'll have free potatoes in a couple of months.

What to make...I dunno. I might do a chicken parmigiana thing today. Maybe get adventurous and make some homemade pasta to go with it, along with a nice salad. We'll see. It going to be sunny today, so I may spend the day outside instead.

I used to volunteer at a food pantry. We had fresh produce from local farmers. Many moms said their kids wouldn't eat it and the most leave me speechless excuse not to take it was
Yuk! the food has dirt on it.

Onebyone, so true of many of today's generation. I can remember my grandfather showing my kids how to pull a carrot out of the garden and use the fronds to wipe off the dirt, before taking a bite. That happened more than 40 years ago, but I can still see their faces. Grandpa, tickled pink to be sharing time with his great grands and my kids in awe of such a simple thing.
Tonight is Chicken Pot Pie--ketoized--no crust but chopped cooked chicken, cream soup, onion, celery, carrot, broccoli, and cheese all mixed together and heated thru in the oven.
