I pulled out an old Candy UFO today. This was from many years ago, probably around my first candy swap. Unfortunately, the pieces I had put together did not quite correlate to the diagram that I had drawn out.... I had previously completed 2 quadrants (unequal sizes) and have lots of partial blocks and strips sewn together as well. So now I am in the process of figuring out what exactly I have and what I need to do to turn this into something useful. Pictures will be ready for 2.5 day this month, it's been a while since i've participated!

LAF, My first thought was....Is this the "Growing Up Odd" pattern? https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.c...-up-odd-quilt/ It is all different sizes that end up making a terrific quilt. Yup, it is the quilt in my avatar. None the less, Looking forward to 2.5 day and your "new" old UFO. It will feel so good to finish your quilt top or at least make progress toward the finish. A double win for you! UFO and 2.5! Yeah!

I stumbled upon this video about the home that Bonnie Hunter converted to be The Quiltville Retreat site. History of the family who built the house and loads of local history of the little town near the home. About 12 minutes is a nice long tour or the house pointing out not just the quilts but the architecture of the building. At the very least it is a lovely tour how to make beautiful quilts of all sizes part of the decor of a home. The video is about 30 minutes long, so sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy.

Thanks for sharing about Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville Retreat. What a lovely place to escape for quilting fun! I'm drooling!

A group trip to Quiltville - The Sweeties! We would have to get on the list. Two of my quilt buddies got to go a couple of summers ago when a group had two open slots in their retreat roster. Mixed review. Site and Bonnie were terrific but not being part of the group was awkward which was not the fault of Bonnie or her Quilting B & B. (Some vocal members were wearing their quilt police uniforms. 
.) A sure way to spoil a retreat for everyone.
But wouldn't it be fun to meet and stitch together. What a good idea Pinkflowers!

Count me in! Cotton to Quilts used to be the organizer for two retreats a year but their calendar isn't listing them anymore. At $1000/person, it is really pricey but all food is catered when they did it. I'm guessing Quiltville is booked solid with groups now.
I bet I know why the retreat that your friends went to had a couple last minute openings.... darn the quilting police.

Oh, well, my friends got to check this Bonnie Hunter adventure off their "quilty bucket list".
$1000 for a retreat? Not in my budget!! My group goes for three days to a local church camp for $150. Basic no frills hotel like rooms for sleeping, a large room that can accommodate 35 quilters comfortably and dinner for two nights. We BYO for breakfast and lunch, so many have special food needs! The folks in this part of the mitten could got to a retreat nearly every week in the year and travel less than an hour of my home town. None are seriously pricey and last from weekend to 6 days in length.

I’ve been tempted to add my name to the list in the event of an opening at Quiltville Inn Retreat but I’ve held back in part due to the cost. The other part has to do with going in cold to an already formed group. Knowing myself, I probably wouldn’t be comfortable. I still might do it. DH says to go for it.
My Juki is working. woo hoo. Now to get back to my red and white floral Boom blocks. I’ve got 9 quilted from just before the machine started breaking thread. Only three more for one quilt and then the other 12 for a second one. I hope to get them both done this month.
