Wow it rained here last night, this area is in terrible drought .All the outdoor plants and trees are mighty happy and the air smells so fresh.

Happy to say we had a quiet day yesterday, exactly what both of us needed.

ok this is going to sound so dumb but I need help. When I add binding it was always sewn to the front and flipped over and hand sewn to the back. When I joined the two ends together the piece on the left I leave face up, the second piece I lay on top of the first piece face down and sew my diagonal line left to right, trim and iron and finish sewing it down. Now I have been sewing the binding on the back first and I can’t join the two fabrics together correctly, do I need to reverse my top and bottom binding strips and sew the angle right to left? Help I am so confused

Hi Terriamn, I put bindings on exactly the same way for both regardless of whether it is attached to the front or back first. I don’t think that will help! Sorry.

Also, DH’s ankle is broken. He’s got a temporary cast on. The permanent one will be put on tomorrow or Tuesday.

Your poor husband! It could have been a lot worse, as you said. I hope he is a fast healer. No bike rides until he heals, right? So sorry for you, too. Good thing we love our stubborn husbands.

Terri, that will be an awesome surprise for your friends! My sister and I surprised our parents with a visit once. I was living in HI but was visiting little sis in GA, and we decided to drive over to MS and surprise them. Dad was out in the yard, watering plants, when we ran shouting "Dad! Dad!" into his yard. He looked up and he said his first thought was, "Those look like my kids..." LOL! Took him a minute.

Janice, hubby may have learned his lesson on riding alone. It could have been much worse and surely he's thought those thoughts, too. Yeah, MEN! My hubby still thinks he can go up on the roof alone to fix something. He's 71. He's in good shape, but is a little clumsier than he used to be.

I got one more UFO finished... a throw quilt for donation. It was a block-of-the-month challenge by my local charity group (not the big guild) and I had finished making all the 12" blocks, but not done anything else except join them into a 3X4 block top. So yesterday I quilted the whole thing (stipple), bound it and added the charity label. TA DA! It feels good to have a project done and on its way out. I'll try and come back with a photo from my phone.

It looks like a Boom quilt, doesn't it? The blue quilt under it is not part of this quilt, just in case the photo was confusing...

Janice,
OUCH, so it's broken... Sorry he'll need to wear a cast for a while, but again, it will emphasize the danger. Motorcycles are dangerous. Just a bike tipping over on you can break bones. Both hubby and son rode them for years, but not any longer. I'm was so relieved when they sold them.

Woo hoo! My sewing machine is fixed. There was some little thread caught in the workings back where I couldn’t get to it. It took two technicians to find it. Now I just have to find the time to get down there to Spartanburg to pick it up. Might take a few days depending upon when hubby’s next appointment is.

I wrote a long post but must not have posted it. Ugh. Brief recap…

SBG, I’m impressed your flimsy went all the way to a finished quilt in a single day. Congratulations. It’s lovely and you’ve earned a fat quarter!

DH says no more riding alone in the back country. He does it to avoid the congestion of main roads. Oops, it backfired this time.

Have a great day, Boomers!

Sewbiz way to go on finishing a UFO, looks great!

My dd and her partner flew to Minnesota to surprise us but the surprise was for them. We were out of town. Arrived home and I said to hubby someone has been in here. Just a few things out of place, a very uncomfortable feeling. When I went upstairs there was a note on the bed explaining they were there and we wern’t.

My first dh also crashed my motorcycle, he was scuffed up something fierce and of course he had been drinking so they had to stitch him up without any kind of pain relief. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me.
