Here is just one of the many tutorials for 'rubber husband' https://happiestcamper.com/jar-opene...ewing-project/ which suggests putting paper next to the rubber side. This one has a magnet inside and how to make a loop to hang. There are also youtube videos on how to make a rubber gripper aka jar opener.

This is an excellent idea. Over the years, I have made hundreds of jar grippers for sale in my craft booths, and they are one of the things that people of all ages can use and appreciate receiving. Altho it makes little difference, there is actually a top and bottom side to the "bumps", with the back being a little smoother than the front side, at least on the material that I have used.

I have a jar gripper myself and never thought to make some as give-aways. Great idea. Thanks for the link, magicmoonmusings. I think that next year we might make cord holders or yoyo paperclips.
I'm still open to more ideas! Small things, so many can fit into a basket.

To me, this would be a super wonderful gift, that quilters would appreciate.
And too, not something limited to quilters use only!
Maybe leave one complete with a cord in the give-away basket ... to be sure everyone understands what they are for. Plus, the shopkeepers would probably appreciate that, so they don't have to keep repeating what they are and how to use them.

The magnet i put in mine wasn’t quite strong enough, so when the fridge door was open or shut the jar opener would slowly inch down the door. I just put it in the drawer now, but didn’t bother to remove the magnet, it works just as well.
