How about a corner bookmark? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLnBmSccpsA

Crystal Murdock of Frosted-saddle.com just sent out a blog that showed how she makes them. Her website has some projects (great bookmarks) that might provide ideas for you, too. I am not affiliated with her or the shop beyond getting their emails.

Cord holders made me think of something. I made cord covers for the dining room. I had long unsightly extension cords around the room for the lamp and lights in the fake tree. I then made one for the hall when I put lights on the bannister year round. It looks so much nicer than the cords and was super simple to make. Just cut a piece of fabric 1 1/2 to 2x longer than the cord and wider than needed to go over the plug. Hem the ends and sew the long seam and you're done.

Visible cords are my pet peeve. They are so ugly to look at. The fabric cover on a cord that has to be there is a good idea.
