I am working on the latest boom quilt. The one with all the block prints my grandson made, so I’ve been thinking about all of you. I hope all bones and eyeballs are doing ok and healing up.

My DH has been riding a motorcycle for over 40 years. When we first married and had kids, every time he got a bigger motorcycle I got an extra $100,000 of life insurance. He has very quick reaction times and always wears a helmet and leathers but at 67 I wish he’d give it up. He still rides maybe once a week.

We are on our ‘third’ summer this year. We are going to be in the high 70s today. I hope to get some exercise in and finish the top of my grandson’s quilt today. Then the basting and quilting will take another 8 hours. I usually do a lot of FMQ on the tops.

I hope everyone is enjoying great spring weather!

Do we have a date for the next boom?

My plan is to open signups some time tomorrow. It looks to be a busy day so don’t worry or be surprised if it gets pushed to Monday. Fingers crossed to get it up tomorrow. I’ll post the link here as usual.

Reminder about the Booms…interaction on the board is required at least once a week through the entire swap. If you finish early, you are not done! You still must check in. I have, in recent booms, had to track down some swappers. I know this is “just” a swap, but if you join, you agree to participate according to the rules, all of them. If you anticipate making the blocks and then walking away, please don’t sign up. Anyone not participating weekly will not be invited to join in the next one. I don’t know how to make this any clearer. Just reading the thread and not commenting is not participating. Most swappers do comment at least weekly and will let me know if they will be unavailable for a period of time for some reason. It is so much appreciated!!!

Again, I’m shooting for tomorrow but I may not be able to get to it until Monday. Please bear with me.

Have a lovely evening.

Just reading this I am already envious about all you who will be BOOMing this next round. I will be happy in the peanut gallery cheering you on. Thank you for keeping everyone organized and on track, Janice! Happy Spring everyone!

MJP -- I am looking forward to how you do up those fun blocks! Has your grandson been impressed?

HAV good to hear from you and happy that you are finished with your move. Years ago hubby was walking the dog and was hit in the eye by a tree branch. He didn’t think anything of it, later he went to bed and woke up about 2 AM screaming in pain. Off to the emergency room, next day I went with him to our doctor. They put drops in and waved some kind of light over his eye and she showed me the actual hole in his eye. Bizarre, he totally recovered but had to use special eye drops for 10 days or so. He said to tell you he felt miserable for about 24 hours after that the pain was tolerable

Been working on the first Boom 33 set of blocks. Trying to find a red that works with all the blocks. I think I found one.

Found out an hour ago that my older cousin has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Not good. I feel so sad as he’s the only cousin with whom I’m in touch and he’s one of the kindest, loveliest and jovial people you’d ever meet. I hope something can be done for him.

Off to the sewing room to cut the sashings.
So Sorry to hear about your cousin, many prayers being sent.

We recently moved out of our 900 sq ft 1928 home that we remodeled. Let me just say… remodeling is something I will never do again 😅—but it was definitely an experience I’m glad we had. Now we’re in about 1,700 sq ft and honestly feel like we’re living in a mansion! The dogs are especially thrilled with the huge yard 🐶🌿

And because life likes to keep things interesting… yesterday I somehow managed to give myself a papercut on my right eyeball 🤦‍♀️ Yes… you read that right. Pulled a ledger-sized sheet from the printer and it flipped right into my eye. Seeing a specialist tomorrow, so say a little prayer for me!

On a happier note, the weather here has been beautiful—high 90s yesterday and today ☀️ Hoping to finally get my garden in the ground this weekend. My sister has everything started in her greenhouse, so I’ve got a great head start 🌱

Hope everyone is doing well! I’ve missed being on here and can’t wait for the next BOOM 💥🧵
sorry to hear about your eye, hope it doesn't hurt too bad. wishing a speedy recovery.
