Boom 35 Sign-ups open thru April 3, 2026
#12
Good morning. Signups are starting out slowly this round. I hope to be able to send invitations to join in a couple of days. I’ve been so busy doing all the things DH normally does, plus my regular responsibilities, that I haven’t had time yet. Please spread the word to your quilty friends that Boom 35 is ramping up.
Today I’ve got the semiannual check on my car. It’s two years old and just turned 4,000 miles. Makes me laugh.
oops, Ernie is up so my day starts! Ernie and I hope you have a pleasant day.

Hey y'all!
It's been eons since I have participated in a Boom ... yep, forever ago. After Dad passed away so long ago, it was my turn to take care of Mom and then she passed. After that "life" changed with grandkids activities and a large variety of health issues...and I really lost my sewing/quilting vibe completely. Mind you, I didn't lose my vibe for collecting fabric so I have an obscene amount to work with. I am still struggling with the thought of an exchange again but tossing it into the wind to see where it lands. I did have a total knee replacement right before Christmas 2025 so I can now sit for a few hours without absolute pain ... and the granddaughters travel volleyball schedule is about over.
If the swap gets "full" how many sets will that be ... it use to be between 25 - 30 so I want to evaluate that number also before I decide.
I have dropped in occasionally as a creeper to see how things have been going and continue to be amazed at the talent this group has always shown. Hope all is well with everyone as we continue down this road called "life".

Moonwork, I have been in the swap for two and a half years, maybe? And the number we have needed to make has been consistently 19. I find that doable mixed with with finishing other quilting projects. I divide it out, in my thinking any way as about two per week. That seems reasonable in my thinking anyway.
Janice can give you a more exact answer later.

Moonwork, so glad to hear from you! Sounds like life has been a bit of a roller coaster for you. My condolences on the passing of your mother. Hope your knee is continuing to improve daily. I had meniscus surgery one year ago. Compared to your surgery, mine was a walk in the park. Every once in a while I get a twinge but count myself lucky for having the surgery as walking had become so terribly painful.
It’s just as WMUTeach said, we max out at 20, that includes one for yourself. If you don’t do one of your own, it’s 19. Some of us occasionally sew double sets, which usually means two fabrics, so that would be 38. In the three month timeframe, there is seldom a problem getting 2 sets done but to be safe, I’d opt to just do one set of 19 as you dip your toes back into the swap. If you are interested, please email me your information requested at the bottom of the signup post and I’ll add you in.
I hope you will join us! Bibliostone is back after some time sway from the swap. It’s great to have old friends join us again!
