Default 2nd Quilt for March Finished

Well, after a lot of issues with my robotic motor wheels but only because I decided to mess with them, then the threads kept breaking, I finally got this quilt done and in time to give to our local Quilt Auction for the disabled here in Carroll, IA. The pattern I found on YouTube from MSQ called Rick Rack I think back sometime in 2019. Yes, it's been awhile since I put the top together but it's actually my last UFO from years past. Now I only have those I'm making this year to do.

Anyway, I used batiks for the colored blocks, Iowa Shop hop fabric from 2015-16 for the light colored blocks, continuing with using that black/purple backing fabric I bought so much of and I think the last of this small striped fabric for the sashing. I went down to MSQ and found what I thought was the perfect backing fabric with multiple colors in it but even at the price I paid, it frayed terribly.

Anyway, I custom quilted it and machine bound it so it's done, done, done for March. Now just have a small 37 x 56 wall hanging to try to get done by this next Tuesday as that's when all the entries have to be submitted.

So here are my photos for you to check out.Hope you like it.

AprilM, I used an Iowa Shop Hop fabric for the background and batiks of all colors for the colored blocks. Don't think I used 1 fabric twice either.

Wow - There are some spectacular finishes this month! I finished my March UFO Comfort quilt but forgot to get a photo before I gave turned it into my guild chairperson. It was only a scrappy quilt and nothing in line with the other finished shown this month.

Ditto to what April said, Lena! A finish is a finish and it may be and "only" to us but to someone else it is a precious or will be precious.

FYI, I spent some time wandering through our thread of posts made since January. A number of you mentioned that you have quilts almost finished or that they went to the longarmer. Did you get the across the finish line? And those that went to the longarmer, did you get the binding on. Let us know about your successful finishes so we can cheer from you!

My March UFO, #5 the Museum Quilt, has grown a bit because I added not one but two sashings and puttsed about matching the stripes. I layered it today at my group's Quilting Work Day where there are large tables perfect for laying out a quilt. It is unlikely that it will be finished in March, but likely close. Oh, pooh, not on time again. Grrr, I say to myself, grrr. Maybe next month.
