Boom 35 Bloom

Beautiful quilt, WMUT.
Like that tree fabric, LAF.
I have decided to do two sets while I'm at it, so here is the second set of fabric. The first is what most of you will get... the tan leaves. I'm asking for white to be used with it. Three of you will get the second fabric instead, with the lions on it. I'm asking for dark navy blue to be used with that. Hope you have fun with these!

WMUTeach, Zuzu is the perfect addition to your quilt! It’s beautiful and I love how you quilted it. SBG, the floral is very pretty. (Another bloom fabric.). The lions are imposing! Will really have to think about what to do with it if I get it. LAF, the tree fabric is another one to challenge me but I already have an idea. The colors in it are lovely.
Terriamn, safe travels today and tomorrow. Hope the trip won’t be too hard on you. It’ll be wonderful to fall into your own bed tomorrow night.
Just found out a dear friend had a fall yesterday and may have a head injury. She was texting our little group last night but she stopped mid-stream. We’re all worried about her. Hope to hear something soon.
Did some yard cleanup yesterday and it kicked my you know what. Not used to all that bending and stretching and lifting. It’s past time for me to get back into yoga. Of course I’ve been telling myself this for a couple of years. Walking just isn’t enough.
Enjoy your day.
edited to add that two more packages are scheduled to arrive today. I’ll start sorting fabrics this weekend. Always so much fun!

Safe travel, Terriamn!
Great job on the historic prints quilt, WMUTeach!
You all may have a rowboat full of fabric to deal with but I have a Carnival Cruise Line amount of fabric. I'm hoping to retire soon so I can finally use what I have been stashing. I saw that Bonnie Hunter pieced all her purple scraps into a backing just to empty out that purple bin. It was very pretty and she ended up with a two-sided quilt. That may be a great way to eliminate some of my chunks. It's a good excuse to color code the boxes that haven't been color coded.
The fabrics you all are choosing for this BOOM are wonderful. I am looking forward to seeing what you all create.
Keep those bubble suits on so you can live long and use up your fabrics!

SBG, I am humming "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Ibex, Carnival Cruise Liner amount of fabric. Oh, my! What fun you will have.
I am thrilled to actually begin to see the amount of fabric decreasing, just a little. I was able to combine a couple of small bins last week (because I used up enough of the fabric) and I now have a small bin designated for our Bloomer packages, finishes and patterns. I noticed yesterday that my over flowing bin of WoW and cream is down to about half full. Oh, Yea! That big old bin takes up so much room. I still have a goal of getting all of my fabric into my double size closet in the next year or so. Progress, making progress! Finishing up UFOs has helped because most of them need a backing and to be quilted. That is a lot of fabric out of the sewing room for each one. I keep muttering "stay the course" and not bring in donation fabric or other lovelies that kind hearted folks want to give to me.
....Well unless I really NEED it. Tee-hee-hee!
Have a lovely day, everyone.

Over the last eons, I kept saying I was buying my retirement stash, because I knew with prices constantly increasing, once I did retire I wouldn't be able to afford it. Then Dad passed away, my quilting bubby, and I only did extremely minimal sewing/quilting, but that didn't stop me from buying ... my hubby is an enabler! He then said once we both retire, he wanted to help like Dad did and even sew some blocks. Now we have the Queen Mary of Stashes or whatever cruise ship is outlandish. We stopped at Marshall's Dry Goids in Batesville, Arkansas (if you know, you know, if not, check them out) last fall and whoop, a full shopping cart later (wholesale prices to everyone with bulk flat fold purchases) my ridiculous hubby actually asked where the other cart was! So needless to say, since we both are fully retired and hopefully all surgeries are over, the quilting mojo juices are being kick started with this Boom. Our son that is our executor, already knows the size of it and wishes we live long abd quilt alot.

Moon, you and your executor make me laugh. The good message is that he wants you two to stick around to use up all of your stash. That is really nice. I have been assuring my children that I am actively reducing my stash particularly this past year, so they don't have to deal with it. Nah, I am not planning on leaving soon, but I am experiencing a slowing down, so I am redistributing the unneeded fabric and tools to others who just may need them or want them. Have a wonderful time together stitching with hubs.

Moon, your Queen Mary funny story is made funnier because it’s true! Enjoy your quilting with hubby.
I’m finally working on my Boom 33 QAYG blocks. I’m about half way done with the sashings. It only took a hour to get that far last night. Sheesh. Should finish those today and the binding tomorrow. It’ll go off to Project Linus next week with three others I’ve made. Then it’ll be time to start working on Boom 35 blocks.
Reminder, you are welcome to send prepaid labels as well as cash for the return of your blocks. It’s your choice.
Hav’s butterfly fabric really calls to me. Wait until you see it and the other fabrics.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
