Moon, that’s so sad about your friend with dementia. I’m so sorry. I think they call it “The Long Goodbye”. Heartbreaking.

That’s a perfect star, Janice! How scary to have the destructive bears so nearby! Yikes.

I made two scrappy burgyone surrounded blocks today. I still have 5 to go and they take so long! But I am trying to get the scrappy BurgSur quilt finished, finally. I listed it in a guild UFO challenge so I’ve gotta get it done. It’s going to be a keeper quilt.

Moon, so sorry to hear about your friend. DH and I watched his aunt fall deeper into dementia over several years. He became her guardian and had to protect her from a predator who was after her money. It’s such a sad situation although sad doesn’t begin to cover it. I hope your friend has much needed help and support.

I'm glad you are pleased with the block. Your colors are wonderful together.

SBG, please post pix of your BurgSur when you’re finished.

Terriamn, congrats on sliding back into quilting. Mindless sewing can be therapeutic and calming. That’s why I make lots of crumb blocks.

A2P, The bears haven’t been spotted this year yet and I hope to keep it that way. We feed the birds as they’re such a joy to watch but bird food is bear food and they won’t hesitate on taking down bird feeders and carting them off if not outright destroying them.

Looking forward to getting more packages in tomorrow. Getting close, Bloomers.

Will do! It's hard to work on it because you have to cut so many small pieces and by the time I cut one block my back is screaming from bending over. Only 5 more... then it will be a 'one and done'.

My tracking says the F8s I sent should be delivered today. So... by tomorrow, at least.

Default Blocks are gorgeous

We are finally settled into our new home and I have to say… I am LOVING the extra space and all the beautiful natural light! ☀️ It makes such a difference, especially when dreaming about quilting projects.

The stairs are a bit of a workout 😅 but honestly, probably good for me!

Now I’m just (im)patiently waiting for my fabric to arrive so I can start on my BOOM blocks. I look forward to each swap so much… it’s always one of my favorite parts of quilting! 💕

Can’t wait to see everyone’s creations again soon! 🪡💖

Congratulations on your new home and surviving the move, Hav. Great news that you have more light and room to move around. Enjoy!

Just back from our Guild meeting. So I took a bag of gifted fabrics I’ll never use for the rehome table. And, can you guess? I came home with three bags of delicious scraps. How on Earth did that happen? Laughing at myself.

Glad you are loving your new home, Hav! It makes the hassle of moving all worthwhile.

Janice, I often do the same at the "rehome" table... Can't resist some of the vintage scraps people put out. I love having that option of sharing what we no longer can use. Have fun going through your scraps!

I'm still plugging away on the last 4 BurgSur blocks. I have the sashings all cut and the little 9-patch cornerstones all ready. I hope I can finish the top before the Bloom F8s arrive.

Have a lovely Spring day, All!

SBG, I was busy watching the Ken Burns documentary about the American Revolution a few weeks ago and what do you know in one of the episodes they talked about Burgoyne and the battle etc. It made the shapes of the pattern all make sense. I wonder if Ken Burns has a BS quilt in his collection?
