Virtual Quilting Weekend—April 17-19, 2026

Guild sew day went well. Have 3 little pillows ready to press and stuff and stitch shut, but not tonight! They changed the start time from 10:45 to 12:15 and myself and one other member weren’t aware of it. I knew if I went home I would not go back, I asked if they would let me set up in a corner and was told no in case any damage happened to my machine. The other lady didn’t take no as an answer and got them to agree for just this once, so I was able to stitch that time away, thankfully!

Im working on a Bible cover for a friend at church. I had her measure her Bible and then i made a template using the instructions for the Prayer Journal cover i made recently. I need to attach the sleeves in the inside cover, then it will be ready for the binding. Hopefully it fits - between her measurements and my pattern modification there is room for error! But we will see when its time for a trial fiting.

I was working on finishing this yesterday AM and remembered it was VQW. This is a class I took while at AQS New England with Barbara Cline. Loved the class, loved her teaching method, and loved the pattern. I was excited to get home and finish the project.
I read through some of the post, lots of sewing or planning going on this weekend. Love the 3 girls under the umbrella. I plan on checking back in this afternoon and hopefully can post some eye candy from the AQS show. Amazing work. Happy sewing everyone. Thank you Heather for these wonderful weekends.

We had great weather yesterday, so my plan to sew got pre empted to helping hubby outdoors. Today is damp/ chilly, so l'll get to work on clue 8 of Twinkle twinkle mystery with Brenda Logan ( sewing with Brenda you tube). 🙂

One more day making bowl cozies. Hopefully finishing them and gift wrapping. I did use my tortilla warmer last night. Dear friend called and she and DH got invited over to BBQ. She brought her granddaughter, almost two. Soooo cute. I love sewing, but I love visiting with humans more!
DD is fixin' to drive home. I did make her a quilted zipper pouch from leftover blocks, as requested!

Looking for ideas please on how to quilt this top that I have been given to finish for donation. I stitch on my regular machine and may have to draw out a design to follow if I can’t figure out something straight forward. I am not very good at meandering, nor do I like the look of it. 😃

I did not cut a single pillow case this afternoon. Not the greatest sleep last night, so I needed to nap this afternoon to catch up sleep and rest and get through some arthritis issues. I will cut pillow case another time.

cjsews--how are the Sunbonnet Sue quilts coming along? I have Sunbonnet Sue for the embroidery machine I need to play with.
LGJARN52--Sorry to hear you broke your toe, glad you're able to join us
Dedemac--hope your thumb felt well to bind.
Snooze2978--love that project
Iceblossom--how did the paper piecing go?
thimblebug6000--did you get the embroidery floss separated?
Sounds like a productive weekend for many. The only "quilting' related project I did this weekend was the barn quilt block yesterday. I did a 3 foot by 3 foot lone star in patriotic colors. I really liked how it turned out but I was exhausted by the time I was done!
See you all back here next month

Thimblebug maybe some circles or vine type with leaves??
WMUTeach If you didn't sleep well then defiantly nap, the machine will be there tomorrow for the pillow cases.
Me - My desk in the sewing room is much better, I cleaned out 4 small baskets of fabric left over from projects, and one medium tote. I found my sewing machine and can work on the UFO projects tomorrow. I also went thru my batting scraps, and I am donating anything smaller then 12x12. It's been a good few days, Friday I could not even get to my machine!
Thank you Heather for hosting.

I didn’t get as far as hoped. Little sleep last night and then one of my grandkids wanted to spend time with me today. Both Sunbonnet Sue are basted and the first half quilted. I will finish that one in the morning before heading out to get binding fabric. Hopefully will have pictures tomorrow. I hope you all have had a great VQW.
