Yes, Yes, Yes! Batting scraps for the win! Thanks for the reminder! My scrap pile of batting scraps has disappeared, so I for one needed the reminder.

I've been neglecting my sewing room and neglecting the QB but other things are just taking priority right now. I'm happy to say I haven't added anything to the stash in this time either. I did a quick read through and am so grateful to you all for keeping this thread and the endeavour to shop stash first alive! I'll sew again, but in the meantime, way to go all of you who are destashing and sharing your stories and pictures here! :-)

Thank you, Gemm. We all go through times and seasons in our sewing and in other parts of our lives too. You are not alone. Pop in and be encouraged and rejoin the journey of "stash first, shop second" when you are ready.

This week I have made 5 baby quilts and of the 5 I chose one to finish....AND I DID!!!

Tonight I found enough pieces for a second backing. If all goes well and not too may interruptions, I should have number 2 done by mid Sundary.

I'm having lots of fun digging around finding fab for the top and when the top is done, finding backing. Most of the quilts will have pieced backs and fronts. Downside to this search, is I'm making a HUGE mess in my sewing room.

Is this the price we pay when we are being creative?

Yup that is the price we pay for creativity.....a mess to challenge our determination to not leave our sewing space look like a trash heap, pig stye, a hoarder's paradise or a middle school girl's bedroom. A little clean up and ta-da, you will be ready to go again. Like Karen Brown (Just get it Done Quilts) says, "set a timer for 15 minutes and you will be amazed what you can accomplish."

Would love to see photos if you can make that happen. Always encouragement for the rest of us.

Congratulations on your baby quilt accomplishment!,

Well, it's confession time and I've got bad news and good news.

First, the bad news: I visited the free table when I went to my guild meeting today.

Now, the good news: I came out with a double handful (about a large ziploc bag's worth) of cream and white-on-white scraps and that was all! No extra colours or prints or "OMG that's adorable" or "I could totally use this in something" fabrics :-)

So fabric in, yes, but hopefully it's fabric that will easily find its way out again when I get back to sewing.

Free Neutrals are always a win in my book! Kudos on passing the colorful fabrics:-)

Took the fifth baby quilt out of drier last night! All from my stash. Sadly making 36 x 36-inch quilts really doesn't make difference in my stash, but I like looking at the pile and smiling. Most of them used charms so now I think I'll look for fast and easy jelly roll patterns.

Juliem1, my go to jelly roll quilts are 1). rail fence and 2). square in a square. Easy, quick and gets the jelly roll "out the door".. But search on and find what works for you and share your choices. We can all benefit from your investigation.

Nothing "IN" so far this month, but I do need to find backing for a finished top. Sigh, nothing in stash other than white to go with this top, Fabric "OUT" is .... well I haven't calculated it yet. The month isn't over yet. Tee-Hee-Hee! Still time to move some more out.
