Our granddaughter that lives in far Western Wyoming landed the part of "The Mad Hatter" in her 5th grade play. We've talked to her about the play several times and she is sooo excited for it. During one conversation she typed that it would be wonderful if we could come see it .... My hubby & I had already talked about going there (1350 miles 1 way ) and surprise her ... but we had to figure out the logistics of it with her parents. Kids these days are so busy it was hard to get to talk with the adults without being on speaker phone to hear the grands also.
Finally we got to say we were coming & verified the timing would work out. We went from flying (argh .. all the restrictions made it a nightmare), to driving our Explorer ( ugh, hate getting hotels, etc) soooo after much (and I do mean much) back and forth, we are taking our Class C RV and driving. We'll leave Tuesday morning and our live in granddaughter will be in charge of the Possum Trot homestead.
With packing & getting the RV ready to roll (plus having to clean off the table for a Mother's Day Grill out that ended up at our house, lol), I haven't gotten to sew the last couple days. Looks like I will be out and about for about 10 days ... I will try to post from the road.
Dang, with all that, I forgot why I started this ... dang train ran off the track again and got side tracked ... Our granddaughter did my nails for the play and I think she did an amazing job. Being the onery Nana I am, I sent a photo to our Mad Hatter and said we did them in support of her role in the play. She was thrilled to see them and said thanks so much ... I hope she is just as thrilled when she gets home from school and sees our RV in their driveway.

I did get another block cut out tonight but it won't get sewn until tomorrow morning. Too late and too many little pieces.

Wow fancy nails Moon, I bet your granddaughter is going to be over the moon(lol) that you made it there for her acting debut.
WMUT thank you for my two lovely block, especially the farm one.
I have been looking all over for the Tula Pink blue besties with rabbits on it, finally found it online after not being able to find it locally or on our travels. I saw it with the rabbits in the center with several shades of blue and one of the green. Fell in love with it but they were all sold out. Very happy now.
Yesterday was fabulous, I saw my first Elk, lots of bears, wild turkeys, groundhogs and lots of beautiful wildflowers, white and yellow yarrow, daisies, fields of some little purple flower and Mountain Laurel.
Sewbiz I almost tried turnip greens but the Mac and cheese won, did try grits with some kind of cheese sauce. Not my thing at all, will eat as a hot breakfast cereal but that’s it. The southern fried chicken breast with honey drizzled on top was a first with the honey, that was delicious. But all the different ways they cook catfish was by far my favorite.
Tennessee is absolutely gorgeous but to far to travel on a yearly basis for only a few days. We will stick to the UP in Michigan for our smaller jaunts.
