thanks!!
I have a Grace pinne frame. I bought it from sewvacdirect.com. Great price and free shipping. I bought my Juki from them about four years ago. Again, best price and free shipping.

I have had my HQ 16 for about 6 months and LOVE IT!! I make mostly lap quilts, but had two main frustrations with quilting with my domestic machine: I hated pin-basting (usually down on the floor), and I could only quilt about a 6" area at once, and that meant I couldn't even quilt a big flower in an 8" block. My HQ is so easy to load, and gives me so much more flexibility in my quilting. I am finally making my way through the stack of tops I have accumulated. I bought mine new at a major quilt show, and a local rep came and set the whole thing up. Well worth it!! He also gave me many tips and ideas. Love the whole thing!!

I am learning to quilt on my elna. If I could afford a long arm, I would buy one. that would be so much easier. Penny

Ultimate Guide to Longarm Quilting by Linda Taylor is the best book I have seen.

I purchased a Innova 26" longarm back in July and absolutly love it. I have just finished quilting a t-shirt quilt that was 109" x 109" and 36 shirts. I used a pantograph and it really turned out looking great!!!

cscmath, those quilts are beautiful. Did you use the longarm to quilt them?

I quilt smaller quilts on my regular machine. For some large quilts I can just about do straight lines with a lot of faffing. For ones I'd particularly like done nicely I finish the tops and then store them. Someday I hope to either buy a longarm and finish them, or work out sending them to someone.

Until then I can dream...

I believe a longarm is considered 18 inch throat and longer, a midarm is under 18 inches.

I have both an APQS Millennium, and an HQ16 (which I have up for sale). They are both wonderful to quilt on, and it is so much easier than trying to wrestle a quilt through a regular sewing machine.
