Just peeking in again.
Have gone to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Very, VERY small, don't know how anyone survived in there. I made it about 300 feet and had to come back up. Didn't really like it.
Today was Mekong Delta. Very nice there too. Had a private guide that I hired, along with our own car/driver. Was much better than taking a crowded tour bus. I know, you must be thinking that it was really expensive for me to do that. But, for the car/driver (foreigners cannot drive/rent cars in Vietnam) private tour guide, lunch, boat ride and just a wonderfully good time....$100. We left at 6am and got back to our hotel at 4pm. We could have had the driver take us to other places (shopping) but we were wore out. Besides riding around the delta, we took a bike ride, had a wonderful lunch and just had a great time meeting people. Really can't put a price tag on that, but everything here is just so cheap!
If I promised anyone a postcard, I'm not sure if I will get one out to you from here. Silly me, in my haste of packing, I forgot my address book. But, I am buying postcards, so I could always put a Vietnam stamp on it and send it from Guam in a seperate envelope.
Looked at some fabric here. Not what we would use. Mainly HUGE prints...nothing like the cotton that we see..ie Moda, Northcott, etc. That was a bit disappointing. Most of that sort of fabric is special ordered. Oh well....I'm sure I can find some silk, maybe, I hope.
Shopping day is tomorrow. ALL DAY!! We saved shopping for last. Have looked around at a few shopping areas, but didn't buy, decided to just look and then buy at the end.
Ok, ,,,,that's all for now.........
