This looks like my first sewing machine a Sparten, an english predicessor of the Singer Frather Weight and made for the British market by...SINGER! I have kept mine all these years and continue to use it often. It is a wonderful machine, easy to use, clean and repair. I bought my used in collage and got a manual from Singer in the 60's. ENJOY!

No, I have 3 of those , they are just called dome tops, some have a shuttle bobbin and some have the other round bobbin, 2 of mine have the shuttle bobbin, they are the early ones, they were made long before the featherweights, Featherweights were made in a much smaller box and part of it folds up, origally made for the girls to take to college to be able to sew their own clothes, several of my friends got these as College gifts on their way out the family door to a college dorm :-D
