It looks like the machine sets on top of the cabinet and does not set down in the cabinet. That would be the only negative issue.

I have the Wal Mart Sauder sewing table and I love it. Paid $75.00 on clearance at my local Wally World. I love it.

I have the same one. I love it, espexially because it is in my living room and I can always close it up and it looks like a little hutch. ( not that it ever is closed )

Janice4 - I'm sorry you've chosen to take offense where none was intended. I realize that super-sensitivity to an issue is a common outcome of a traumatic experience, but most of us just don't react the same way you do, and find it hard to see the phrasing as anything other than a casual passing reference to oh maybe target practice???

you might try wale mart, they have sewing decks that open up to give you a longer sewing table and they close up like a cabnet, I got mine from wall mart a few years ago. Penny

I use a dining room table. Has plenty of room, you can even put storage containers or a small cabinet under it. At one time I had 2 machines sitting on it.

Most of my furniture in my sewing room are things picked up at Estate Sales. A lovely red eye treadle, a pair of glass fronted book shelves for fabric, a large vintage wood table for cutting and my Mom's sewing cabinet. You may consider sitting at the cabinet and seeing how it works for you before putting money down on it. Same for the Wal-Mart cabinet. What looks great doesn't always fit how you plan to use it. Have fun shopping.

I would prefer one where the sewing machine drops down into the cabinet because it is so muc easier on your shoulders to have it at the table level.
