Oh lucky you. I can't wait to see what you decide to buy. I have only tried one so I know nothing.

I just purchased a HQ Avante and love it. I have a lot to learn but am having fun learning. I have had mine for about four weeks now.

My hubby did the same thing to me and I chose the new Handi-Quilter Avanti 18. I liked the size and the simplicity of using it and it's beauty. The Handi-Quilter website has lots of information plus QNN TV is having a series of longarm lessons. You Tube also has alot of video's using different longarms. Another point was I liked the how quiet the Avante 18 is. I found some of the others pretty noisy. Good Luck and Enjoy.....

Hi,
Glad to hear about your new longarm purchase. We are retiring to FLA and have no room for my Gammill Classic. I love it but must sell it, I'm in Ohio if you are interested in the details email me I would be glad to give you information.

What a man. My Janome dealer now has the Tin Lizze. I was telling my husband the cost and he nearly choked on his coffee. He just has no idea of the cost of good equipment. Oh well, he did let me get the 9700 so I'm happy with that. He's a good man so I guess I'll keep him another 39 years. Congrats. Keep us informed on your decision. I would definitely try to find a dealer close.

I purchased an Innova in December. I haven't spent much time on it recently, but I love it. The Innova is relatively new to the longarm market, but the company has been making industrial quilting machines for 70 years. Their customer service is excellent (24/7) and the machines are upgradeable, so when something new is developed you can add it to your machine. I agree with all the others that you should test-drive all the machines, but definitely include the Innova in that list. The cost is significantly lower than for the Gammill, but that won't last forever. The machine is in the same tier of longarms. You can also join the two Innova groups on yahoo - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ABMLongarm/ and http://groups.yahoo.com/group/InnovaLAQ/. You don't have to own an Innova to join, and you will get lots of useful information.
