Aren't you glad you are part of such a great bunch of quilters?

I just love this bunch of quilters that take time to communicate their concerns, problems, solutions and funny stories!

Yep, been there, done that. I pin basted the quilt to the carpet---my son was 4 and laughed so hard I had to laugh too.
Reminds me of the I Love Lucy episode where Ricky takes the money away from her, so she dyes and perms her own hair, and it is standing in a sunray design on top of her head, decides to make her dress for a gala event and cuts it out on the living room carpet, and sews it. When she shows Ricky, it is a mess, then she shows him that she not only cut out the dress but also cut the shape of the dress out of the carpet. I have always been leary since I saw that.

That's why I use the long tables in the library's meeting room! Push a couple of those together and they are great for even queen and king sized ones. The hard table top also stops the pins (I use a tacking gun) from attaching to anything else!

Betcha' don't do that again!

Been there, done that! There now, don't you feel better? Our Hancock Fabrics has a classroom with tables that I push together and pin baste my quilts. It's a trip, but worth it! I also have a quilt frame, MegaQuilter & QBOT to do most of my quilts, but need to pin baste & regular machine quilt the t-shirt quilts.

Amen to that - the getting UP off the floor bit. I've been really working on 'quilt as you go' - it solves LOTS of those problems. I'm even teaching it now and love it. Give it a try!

What's really been cool is teaching it to new quilters, as part of a Quilting 1 class. They are always shocked at how nice the back looks and how much easier it is to handle. Very gratifying. I just finished a large log cabin sample and the die-hards are shocked at how well it turned out!
