I get Quick Quilts, which I love, Quiltmaker, due to Bonnie Hunter, and I get Quilt due to they gave me a deal a subscription for $10. I buy magazines at Walmart, especially if they have a chicken pattern that I don't have.

Definitely browse the newstands & buy a couple that appeal most to you ... then try a subscription or two, you'll save $$

My subsc. are to Amer. P & Q, McCall's and Fons & Porter ... I've probably subscribed to every quilt mag there is over 20 years now ! I also take Quick Quilts (great for beginning quilters) - but I still like it for fun, quick quilt ideas.

JoAnn's seems to run the 10% off on mags more & more, so you can't use the coupons ... it gets harder and harder to find something to use them for !! 10% is nothing ... I just don't understand their marketing strategy AT ALL

:(

I like Quilting Art http://www.quiltingarts.com/ some of the art quilts is not me but they all have some neat ways of doing different stuff. Some of it I can use. Also I like the traditional quilting magasins. I change subscribtions between the different magasins. I tend to get tired of them and then change to another one.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned my favorite, Quilter's Newsletter or American Quilter.

Fons & Porter "Kids Quilts" is one of my favorites. The colors are always bright and inviting.

For paperpiecing - eQuiltPatterns.com is the former Quilts with Style. You can get individual block patterns for just 99 cents.

I like Fons and Porter, but all seem to vary a little from each other. I go to bookstores and check out some of there quilt magazine also as well as the grocery stores.

If I could only take one it would be McCalls. Most of their quilt projects are the style I enjoy most.
I also take Fons and Porter and Quilters Home. Since Mark left QH I might not renew it. I dropped the other several subscriptions last year.

They are my favorite also. I also take The Quilter Magazine. I look more for articles than quilts to make. I have found that more and more the magazines are full of ads, so have dropped a few. I can't see paying for advertisments.

I really love Quilter's World magazine, which is an online magazine. It is full of projects, and the directions are very well organized and easy to follow. I think it might even be free to subscribe(?) Here is the website. See for yourself:

As for the others, I think it depends on what kind of quilts you like. Some of the magazines are geared more toward art quilts. Most of them feature certain fabric lines and encourage you to purchase those lines or kits. I think my least favorite is Fons & Porters. But the others are all good, IMHO.
