    all the time, in everything i do, thisweekend, i'm doing cement, my dh thinks i know what i'm doing. HAH!!!!!
    i watch on tv or a book or youtube and do it.

    I have a few patterns but honestly, every time I get it started, I just go my own way because my idea of the end result is not what the pattern is demanding. Of course, most of my quilts are not of the usual sizes. lol lol

    Yes, I wing it quite often, usually with good results, mainly because I find elements from different patterns that I want to combine. Call it my version of adaptive creativity...I cook like that too. No complaints in that department either :)
