Probably not, but it sure will help to see your unstraight seams better. LOL

Just like in drawing, sewing a straight line IS harder than sewing a curvy line. Just use some sort of seam guide and you'll do better!

When I joined our local group and we were asked to do that, I should have brought my grandmother. Sewing a 5/8th seam, no problem, but 1/4" is what everybody else sews. I tried everything except closing my eyes. Maybe I should go for that next.

This is just weird. My biggest complaint and I was just whining and complaining the last couple of days to different friends. Same reason. I can't sew a straight line, I have tried and tried and am careful and everything that a person can do and still my blocks do not, I repeat do not come out the size they are suppose to. Take my word for it, its not the machine because no matter what machine I sew on its the same. I have even tried paper piecing. Doesn't work. So I really feel your pain. I am so sorry there are two of us.

I am pretty new to quilting (about 1.5 years now). I have a severe vision issue and when I went to a class early one to learn quilting the teacher said that a scant 1/4 is a few THREADS narrower!!!!! OMG, I thought if I have to be so exact as a few THREADS I am in deep doo-doo!!!! Well, I just give it my best shot and have learned that is FINE by ME. I am sewing for therapy for ME anyway! Still, it can be intimidating at times.

I even had cataract surgery, still can't sew a straight line. You are in a large group of other quilters who just like to take the long, winding path in life.
