Are you able to share a pic of your Esperia? I just bought one but it's a treadle. It seems to look different from the others I've seen online. I think it may have been tampered with so it would be good to see how it's meant to look in its original state

I bought my Necchi Leila in 1964. after Christmas sale. Salesman talked me into the "top of the line" model. Glad he did. Never have used some of the options, but 50 years later it still sew like a dream. Bought a new Singer in 1984 but it mostly just sits ( or backup when Necchi is being serviced) I thought I needed a newer machine. Boy was I wrong. Wouldn't trade my machine for all the new models they make. I love it.
