My quilting board ID is from where we live, if I look out the window all the dirt is red. Our home is like living on Mars, and the crafter part comes from my love of anything crafty. I like to sew, decorate, embroider, candlewick, and paint.

I've been using "MDMPanther" for many years as my screen name for most everything and my email address. MDM are my initials and Panther is my fav animal. I have a friend who studied Native American spirituality and asked me if I knew what the characteristics of the panther were. He said it fit me and encouraged me to look it up and study it. After a little research the part that stood out was "reclaiming one's true power." At the time I created the name, I was in the midst of great change and through alot of it had to "claim my power" to get through it all....it symbolized strength to me....so to me it's a constant/gentle reminder to claim my power.

I worked 8+ years as a lab technician. We were always working at top speed because we got three deliveries a day of specimans. I was always in a hurry to get my work done so I would be ready for the next delivery. In the almost 30 years since that job I do the same thing with every task or whatever I take on including quilting. I once made a full size bed quilt from piecing to handquiltng in 5 weeks for a raffle to raise funds for our local quilt documentation project. I can usually handquilt a queen size top in six weeks or so. Being speedy has allowed me to accomplish a lot durring my almost 61 years.

Love the story behind your names! Never had a nick name, or one I could repeat. So I just used my full name. Wish I had something cute or meaningful!

I am a long-arm quilter and I named my machine Jennie Matilda, after my grandmother. Hence, Jennie and Me. She is such a good girl.

I go by Queen. As a mother of 3 sons, while they were growing up, I told them that we did not live in a democracy, but a monarchy. I was the queen and dad was the king and what we said, goes. It seemed to work. They have grown up to be wonderful young men.

I grew up in ND and the state flower is the Prairie Rose. Have lived in Mass & RI before landing in Ga but the PRose is still one of my favorite flowers.

Me, not so creative. I've been in the "bus" business for over 28 years. School bus, now transit bus. Thus, "Buslady". Wish I had been more creative when I joined. It was the first time I had joined anything like the QB.
