I'd like to add to #13.....and so does the dog or cat. My dog always had threads on her.

    ;-)

And #15, that was my day 2 days ago....after calling to arrange service, it's all better now.

I have learned as soon as you have the quilt sandwiched and basted you will find a block or boarder that is turned the wrong way.

Can't have the radio on, or a movie playing or an audio book going when I'm reading directions.
I have to go over all directions again and again as I'm measuring and re-measuring.
    I have to do everything V E R Y S L O W L Y and re check myself.
(Then I can have the radio on, or listen to a movie or book while I relax and sew.)
I can't work too late or I get sloppy and/or make mistakes.
I have to have more respect for my sewing machine so I don't sew my finger again.
I've learned to look at my fabric in the daylight.
I've learned, too late, that some Batiks really do have a right and wrong side.
My knees aren't as flexible as they used to be.

I do keep staples on hand for breakfast, so that just leaves one other meal. Laughing at myself here.

in quilting there is no such thing as a shortcut.

When you use Wonder Under make sure you iron on the right side or you'll be scraping the iron until kingdom come!

at the end it will all quilt out

Or course! Especially when I measure 2.5 inches, cut 2.5 inches and it was acutually supposed to be 2.75 inches!

Don't ever, ever, ever calculate yardage for an entire quilt after 8 PM if you're a morning person!!!!!!

Ditto for doing the math to change a block from one size to another.

Ditto for cutting fabric, especially if you're also in a "close enough is close enough" mood.....

Read a book, surf the web or watch TV instead.
