This is my list that you can follow as an example if you want and hopefully it can help with any questions you may have about what to tell your Secret Santa

    About me and my family
    Married 32 years
    2 daughters
    1 granddaughter Alanna
1 Six year old tuxedo female cat "Little Lady"
1 grandkitty - Siamese female kitten "Koko"
I care for my elderly mother and dear husband

My Wish list. (things I need to complete my stash)
    Solids - all colors
Tone on Tones - colors, shades whites
    Fall fabrics
    Holiday fabrics
    Quilting marking pencils
    Quilting tools

    Likes (other than fabrics)
    Historical fiction
    Chocolate
    Calligraphy
    Stationary
    Organizational tools
    Cats
    Wild colored pens
    Embroidery
    Harp, flute, piano music
    Celtic music
    anything fun

Dislikes - anything with artifical sweetner
    EXTREMELY ALLERGIC TO:
    NutraSweet, Saccharin, Splenda
(hint: if it says Sugar Free, most likely it has one of the above in it.)

This way, your Secret Santa can be an informed shopper...
Oh and Re-purposing is acceptable. goodness knows that we all have enough to share without breaking the bank during these economically difficult times.

Another tid-bit is you don't have to shop for the entire family/clan... Last year my SS sent gifts to all of us... it was wonderful. I have used all my goodies throughout the year...

Put on your calender, a week before mailing is to go out that you HAVE to mail. Hopefully that will give you a little "light bulb" that you need to get your package in the mail.
Remember, mail date is NOVEMBER 15th. I'm thinking of having the chat on December 18th. That gives the package 1 month to get to it's destination IF it was mailed on the last day.
I do encourage you to mail as soon as possible.
ok, please clarify before I get shot at sunrise cus I already marked my calendar per your very first post of the rules:

    "First...a bit of unpleasantness....THE RULES....

    1. Mail deadline is November 21st. That is a HARD deadline. No mailing AFTER this time. Since you have almost 2 months, there should be NO excuse for mailing late, unless you are incapacitated or 6 feet under."

I have Nov 21 marked as the ship day.
is the mail date Nov 15? or is it a one week backup date to remind us to mail?? I dont want to do this wrong, sharet

Terri just wants you to mark your calendar on Nov 15 as a reminder that you have to mail out that week (no later than the 21st) that's all. But the hard date to mail is Nov 21st.

I want you to mark a day on your calender to make sure you are reminded to mail out your package by the deadline IF you hadn't mailed it already.
Most people will try to mail it as soon as possible. Some will mail the day they get the name because they shop all year long for something like this

But...if you do ask me a question, it will cost you 10 yards of Asian print fabric, which you will need to pay at least $20/yd for and then FedEx it to me overnight.....joking.....
She's going to be getting buckets of coal this year
Coal would be nice, but I cannot burn it in my fireplace. A cord of wood would be better lol

You could always do what I did last yeat, havd it delivered at work, and they didn't tell me where it was until 2 days before we were to open it. They did let me know it was there and let me look at it once, before it was "hidden".
Although in the end, all the girls wanted to open it for me.
Hmmm, that worked so well, I may have to get them to do it again this year. Really cuts down on your ability to cheat and sneak peeks if you have no real idea of where it is.
