This is the quilt kit I purchased 1/2 price -- now working on block 3 of 25. All blocks are in different reds, 5 of each red print. I want to learn how to hand applique and figured doing 25 of the same block would probably be a good thing.

Well, I have 5 of my 6 lap quilts done!! Busy weekend, but am relieved to have gotten this much done so far. They are all simple rail fence pattern; I did some simple piecing on the backs, and quilted with my walking foot, but the Seniors will appreciate them.(I did two of the pink and green ones, but since they are the same only posted pic of one of them) One more to go. I also have some military theme fabric, I think I will try to put together a couple in red, white and blue for the Veterans at the center too.
JeanieS, great way of KISsing these quilts! I like the curved S quilting and may adopt the idea for the comfort quilt I'm working on.

Catching up... everyone's work is great.
I was making my rice bags yesterday and began sticking pins in a bag I had sewn closed. To my amazement (probably no one else's) I found the pins stuck in there nicely. I am considering using rice for stuffing my pincushions in the future. Has anyone else used rice for stuffing? I like the feel of it and how it holds the pins. Cheap too!

Managed to sew all the squares for a string quilt, except one.. Hope to do it tonight, and then will put piano keys as a border, and hope to do that tonight, also.. Had to run to Joann's, as I ran out of thread.. Love when that happens, and I have a coupon..
Have to make dinner, and then on to the machine.. It's waiting for me all oiled, and cleaned..

Just finished the satin stitching on the October & November fatcatpattern penguins I'm doing as a BOM. They make me grin...kind of like colouring a picture when I was a kid. I added the wand to this one. I added the word Joy and also made the wing go up as though he was holding the word. Really enjoy this pattern!

Although I don't remember if I signed up for this weekend, I have been sewing and doing quilty things this weekend. I am making comfort quilt blocks for my quilt group. I have made 59 I spy blocks so far. They need 30 per quilt. I have cut 4.5 inch square blocks till I got bored and then cut 2.5 inch strips and then went and put some together. I have lots of strips to make and 4.5 inch blocks to cut out. Eek!
I also want to work on my own quilt. We went to JoAnn's today. Tomorrow, more quilty things to do!
