Yes, sometimes there's a need to sew overlaid to each other. It's good to have a fdn too. I use dryer sheets -- they come in big sheets. You have really inspired others with your great projects and no wonder they are now saving their selvages!!!

I'm so happy you all share your projects, I thought recently to join a sewing blog similar to this one, but let me tell you, you all spoil us with your wonderful creations and ideas that I don't think I can find a better blog which shares everything related to our addiction which is sewing whatever you think of.
Thanks Thanks Thanks for sharing and showing your projects

Yes, I think it's best not to plan. I do the same thing with my scraps. It all looks good together anyway. But I do occasionally make sure I don't get two bummer fabrics together, like two low contrast that throws everything else off. Your technique is the best way and fastest too! Thank you for sharing. We loved every minute of it!!

You are all so kind. I sure didn't meant to steal your thunder. Your items are really great and again, please tell me how you did that binding on the first item. Did you add the variegated metallic thread AFTER you sewed on the binding? It is so sharp!

The big plus in joining these forums, for me anyway, is all the wonderful ideas I get and help too when I need it. Most quilters love to share. Non-quilters don't always get what we do, so for most of us, it's a great pleasure to share with those that do "get it". Non-sewing people think our selvages are "weird"....HeeHee.
I use to get intimidated by what other's did. Then I decided that while mine might not be the greatest, I did it!!! Now I will share and hope someone else will have the courage to do it too. That's how we learn...

Well, bourvel, that sure was so very nice of you to say! And I don't think there is a better quilting forum out there but this one!! With 9,000 members, you are bound to be "continually" informed, inspired, educated, encouraged, lifted and entertained!! haha. And that's just for starters!! Wait until you meet all the pros!!! Your welcome, bourvel, and I am so glad others too are showing their wonderful creations and ideas here too!!

Me too! But look on the bright side -- think of all that you can make after you have friends helping you save too all selvages for a worthy cause or gifts!!
