Barefoot when the weather is warm (and sometimes even when it's not) and Sockfooted when the tootsies are cold. When I took my first quilting class, there was one other girl (she was younger than me) who also removed her shoes to sew. It's the only way to be.

I used to be barefoot all year round. I'm very flat footed with no arch at all, so being a little round and older has done a number on my poor feet. So a couple of yrs ago I got in the habit of wearing houseshoes in the house at all times. Now I cannot stand to be barefoot. I've tried sewing with no shoes and it does not work. Have to have my houseshoes on. LOL I've dropped the Rotary Cutter a few times and gotten pretty close to the feet. Yikes~!

I treadle barefoot all year long!! I feel I have better control over the situation if I am barefoot. In the spring summer and fall I stay barefoot all of the time except when we go out or I have to run to the fabric store then its sandals for me.
Shoes get in the way for me, in fact I am barefoot while I type this!

Summer - barefoot; Winter - socks
I too control the foot pedal better barefoot.
I'm like the Mennonite children that used to live here- around the farm-walk barefoot everywhere except the woods and even do chores barefoot. Yes, that includes going in the chicken coop and collecting eggs and feeding Pete the goat. Amazingly I have only stepped in poo twice.
My feet are wider, but don't wear high heels anymore so it's ok. I take good care of my feet and have no spurs or bunions. My feet and ankles do swell occasionaly so barefoot is more comfy.
