Sherry, It's so amazing what medicine can do for these little guy's today. The fact that Rainn has made all the hurdles he has so far is a miricle in itself. I'd say Rainn is a real fighter and will surpass the other kids before long. I have a 78 yr. old sister that was a preemie born is the back woods of Maine and she survived with the help of a home made incubator made from rocks heated in the oven of a cook stove, wrapped in blankets and placed under the floor of the bassinette and my sister bundled up in all the blankets they had to spare. She graduated first in her high school class and won a scholarship to collage. He'll be home before you know it and all this will be behind you. :D

Congrats. Looking at those pics my heart still races with the thought of all the alarms going off in the NICU. Our oldest was a premie. He weighed 3 lbs 12 oz. He looked so tiny and we asked why they kept calling him big boy or little or man. They said- go lok at the ones at the end of the NICU. Some weren't even apound- we are so blessed

Thank you everyone - for the thoughts, prayers, well wishes, stories and LOVE!! We are lucky to be minutes away from the hospital so we visit several times a week to see his progress. Our little Rainn is doing pretty well, inspite of having - I think - every test that the hospital has to offer (j/k). I will definitely keep everyone informed. My son is doing an amazing job of keeping friends and family informed on caringbridge and facebook. (I can share if anyone really wants to follow). This is their first child and our first grandchild - and they have known that Rainn was gestationally small because of IUGR since May, starting 2 weeks behind and finally 3.5 weeks behind when the doctors decided that he would do better in the hospital instead of mom...it has been quite a rollercoaster for them, and us. But having all of you pulling for him I KNOW is helping! Thanks, Sherry
