Either way looks good, but I'm leaning towards the pic. without the sashing. I think I would place the blocks that have a dark, green or black whatever that color is on the poing with a touch of brown fab. and put all of those in the center and make a pinwheel type block if you can, it will make another pattern. I like the way you have the second pic.. Maybe I'm not making sense here, but I see another design in this block.
